About Mesahat Mesahat was established on September 5th 2015 to work on identifying and reducing security risks, and eliminating the social & cultural obstacles that are faced by sexual, and gender minorities in the Nile Valley Area (Egypt & Sudan). Mesahat works to create the means and tools for LGBTQI activists to carry on their work safely and contribute to creating stronger and more connected trans/queer* geographies.

Position Purpose
Lead and oversee all aspects of research projects ensuring high-quality data collection, rigorous analysis, and impactful reporting.
Working Hours
40 hours per week

Key Objectives of the Position The key objectives of this position are: ●
Provide strategic leadership and direction for research projects, ensuring alignment with Mesahat's mission and objectives.
●
Develop and implement a comprehensive research methodology, including data collection tools, sampling strategies, and analysis plans.
●
Manage and supervise the research team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
●
Oversee the ethical and responsible conduct of all research activities, ensuring adherence to ethical guidelines.
●
Analyze and interpret both quantitative and qualitative data, identifying key patterns and trends in violence and discrimination against LGBTQ+ individuals.
●
Write and edit the comprehensive research report, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and effective communication of findings.
●
Disseminate research findings through publications, presentations, and engagement with stakeholders.
●
Represent Mesahat at conferences, workshops, and other relevant events.

Requirements and Qualifications Qualifications or
A degree in a social science, data science, or a diploma in project or program

Quantitative or qualitative research, project monitoring and evaluation, data analysis, team supervision
Technical Skills
Excellent quantitative, qualitative and desk research skills. Proficient in the use of data analysis/statistical software, report writing skills

Organized, able to work independently with minimum supervision, flexible, possessing deep understanding of LGBTQ+ issues in the Nile Valley area
