Mesahat was established on September 5th 2015 to work on identifying and reducing security risks, and eliminating the social & cultural obstacles that are faced by sexual, and gender minorities in the Nile Valley Area (Egypt & Sudan) Mesahat works to create the means and tools for LGBTQI activists to carry on their work safely and contribute to creating stronger and more connected trans/queer* geographies
Key Position Information
Job Title Documentation officer
Position Reports to Communication & PR manager
Position Supervises None
Position Location Egypt
Position Purpose Plan, and reach out for LGBTQI+ individuals, and to coordinate & facilitate documentation sessions to document actions of discrimination, violations & hate they are submitted to.
Working Hours 40 hours per week

The key objectives of this position are:
The documentation officer will Plan & facilitate documentation sessions with LGBTQI+ communities members in Egypt to document actions of discrimination, violations & hate they are subjected to.
● Comply with financial, holistic security, and HR guidelines in the execution of documentation activities
● Maintain and report on financial and administrative records as relevant
● Plan, Implement and the execution of documentation sessions for research purposes & content production
● Edit and deliver documentations without any fundamental change on the original transcript
● Comply with financial, holistic security, and HR guidelines in the execution of logistical tasks during activities
● Monitor actual expenditures on a monthly basis and report to Resource Allocation Supervisor.
● Report work development & implementation to Program Development & implementation officer.

Qualifications or Certificates
● Maintain archives for all relevant receipts and documentation for activities and events
● Reach out for LGBTQI+ individuals to document with
● Insuring consent of penefetiaries
● Create a research design and a research plan to document violations
● Facilitate documentation sessions in compliance with our policy guidelines & documentation ethics.
● Maintaining a safe atmosphere during the documentation session.
● Edit & deliver the transcript of each session.
● Communicate effectively with beneficiaries, & staff.
● Contribute to the continuous improvement of the production process by recommending and participating in content production preparations activities

- Knowledge of spreadsheets, documentation, and archiving.
- Good in writing in Modern standard Arabic.
