2. Toy Voyaging | worldwide Todos hemos tenido nuestros juguetes favoritos cuando éramos pequeños y todavía podemos amarlos con todo nuestro corazón. El Toy Voyaging es donde el amor por un osito de peluche se vuelve un poco inusual. Este servicio online une a los amantes de los juguetes y les ofrece “enviar a tu propio juguete a viajar alrededor del mundo u ofrecerle un lugar donde quedarse”. 3. The Fat Men’s Club | USA Este club se popularizó en los siglos XIX y XX en los Estados Unidos y quizás no sea el más atípico. Entró en nuestra lista por su lema humorístico “Tengo que ser bondadoso; no puedo pelear ni correr.” This club became famous in 19th and 20th centuries in the US and it might not be the most unusual one. It made our list for its humorous motto “I’ve got to be good-natured; I can’t fight, and I can’t run.” Dieser Club wurde im 19. und 20. Jahrhundert in den USA bekannt und ist vielleicht nicht der außergewöhnlichste. Wir haben ihn aber aufgrund seines witzigen Mottos auf unsere Liste gesetzt: “Ich muss nett sein, ich muss kämpfen und ich kann nicht rennen.”

4. DESPERTADOR SOCIAL | SOCIAL ALARM CLOCK | Sozialwecker | Russia Este club fue creado para hacer más fácil y agradable el proceso de despertarse por la mañana. Usando su plataforma online, puedes poner la hora en tu alarma y entonces, en lugar de ser despertado por un sonido de alarma predeterminado, recibirás la llamada de un extraño que fichó para despertarte. os encontramos en el año 123 a.C. El cónsul Quinto Cecilio Metelo conquista Mallorca y se inicia, en este momento, la vida urbana de la isla. Desde ese instante, Pollentia estaba destinada a convertirse en la ciudad más importante de las Islas Baleares en época romana. Con una situación estratégica gracias a las bahías de Pollença y Alcudia, Pollentia rápidamente creó un núcleo urbano envidiable, con alcantarillado y abastecimiento de agua potable.

El Templo Capitolino, dos templos menores y una gran área comercial conocida como Tabernae pueden ser visitados actualmente en este Forum, donde actualmente se están realizando todavía trabajos arqueológicos.

Más de 2100 años después, todavía nos quedan resquicios de aquella época dorada. Bien de Interés Cultural y Patrimonio Histórico de España. Así es como fue declarado en 1963 el Teatro romano de Pollentia.

Aunque en sus primeros descubrimientos se creyó que estos yacimientos guardaban un teatro griego, en 1952, los investigadores Amorós, Almagro y Arribas despejaron toda duda. Los restos arquitectónicos que guardamos en Alcudia son, definitivamente, romanos.

Nos imaginamos a los romanos paseando entre las calles de La Portella, la que era su zona residencial y que, actualmente, muestra la Casa de los Dos Tesoros, la Casa del Noroeste y la Casa de la Cabeza de Bronce. Todo ello forma parte de la zona arqueológica que se estudia y conserva en la actual ciudad de Alcudia, y que puede ser visitada.

La cávea, la orchestra y la escena, elementos de los que todavía se conserva gran parte, reviven actualmente su época más esplendorosa durante los meses de agosto, cuando el teatro vuelve a disfrutar de su original actividad: entretener a los habitantes de su ciudad.

El Forum (Foro) era la zona pública de las antiguas ciudades romanas. Su función era comercial, religiosa e incluso administrativa. El Forum romano

A finales del siglo I d.C., las afueras de la antigua ciudad romana de Pollentia (actualmente conocida como Alcudia) vieron nacer un teatro que tanto debió amenizar los ratos libres de sus ciudadanos. The Roman Forum of the ancient city of Pollentia is located in the most central area. Today, we see the remains of this Forum, what we would currently call the ‘main square’ of the city. The Capitoline Temple, two minor temples and a large commercial area, known as Tabernae, can now be visited in this Forum, and you can still note the ongoing archaeological work. At the end of the first century AD, the outskirts of the ancient Roman city of Pollentia (now known as Alcudia) saw the birth of a theater that should have entertained its citizens. Until the mid-nineties of the 20th century, the Roman theater of Pollentia was the only Roman recreational building found in the Balearic Islands. Although in its first discoveries it was believed that these sites guarded a Greek theater, in 1952, researchers Amorós, Almagro and Arribas resolved all doubts. The architectural remains that we keep in Alcudia are definitely Roman. The cave, the orchestra and the stage are the elements of which a large part still remains, and they are reviving their most splendid period during the months of August, when the theater once again is used for its original purpose: entertaining the inhabitants of its city. The theater stands are still preserved and even today it is an enviable location for those who want to relive Roman comedy and tragedy from a true 1st century scene.

El islote deshabitado de Es Vedrà se desprendió de la isla de Ibiza y se quedó admirándola desde el suroeste. Desde entonces, se ha convertido en un lugar famoso por su magia y energía, entre otras razones, relacionadas a supuestos avistamientos ovnis y otros sucesos no muy terrenales.

Pero el padre Palau también es conocido como el huésped de Es Vedrà, por ser la persona que más tiempo pasó en la isla. Algunos le atribuyen la responsabilidad de tantas leyendas, y no en vano, pues él mismo describía experiencias místicas que vivió durante sus estancias en el islote. “Damas de luz”, “seres celestiales”… ¿Quién iba a dejar pasar estas palabras del padre Palau? Para muchos, Palau hablaba sin duda de avistamientos de ovnis al referirse a apariciones luminosas de grandes círculos de luz con hasta 50 metros de diámetro que entraban y salían del agua.

Incluso a día de hoy, muchos pescadores evitan las aguas que rodean es Vedrà, zona que genera interferencias en sus radares e incluso parece desorientar a las aves. Según datos conocidos, no fue hasta el año 1950 cuando unos alpinistas se atrevieron a llegar hasta la parte más alta de Es Vedrà. Dos alpinistas catalanes desafiaron otra antigua leyenda que aseguraba el cambio de sexo de aquellos que lograran coronar la cumbre de Es Vedrà. Por supuesto, Francisco Martí y Manuel Puig siguieron siendo hombres tras alcanzar la cima. Tal es la expectación que ya desprendía el islote en esa época, que este hecho apareció como noticia en el periódico ABC del jueves 3 de agosto de 1950. Es Vedrà también forma parte de lo que popularmente se conoce como El Triángulo del Silencio. Junto al peñón de Ifach y la costa suroeste de Mallorca, Es Vedrà es una de las puntas de una especie de Triángulo de las Bermudas donde, según cuentan diversos navegantes e incluso aviadores, ocurren sucesos extraños y difícilmente explicables. Fuente de inspiración de artistas, lugar de recogimiento espiritual, incluso tal vez una base de ovnis u hogar de sirenas, sin duda, lo que sí es Es Vedrà es un lugar mágico que fotografiar desde la isla de Ibiza durante una puesta de sol de verano.

The uninhabited islet of Es Vedrà detached itself from the island of Ibiza and stayed admiring it from the southwest. Since then, it has become a place famous for its magical energy, among other reasons, related to alleged UFO sightings and other events. But Es Vedrà is much more than the subject for fantastic anecdotes. Es Vedrà is a place of worship for a religious congregation of 1490 nuns, five of whom live in the house of Es Cubells, located in Ibiza. This congregation was founded by the now blessed Francisco Palau y Quer. Father Palau spent a part of his life meditating on the islet of Es Vedrà and,

Es Vedrà is also a part of what is widely known as El Triángulo del Silencio. A source of inspiration for artists, a place of spiritual recollection, maybe even a base of UFOs or a home for mermaids, Es Vedrà is, without a doubt, a magical place, at least for making some wonderful photos from the island of Ibiza during a summer sunset.

Nicht ganz ohne Grund: Er berichtete selber von mystischen Ereignissen, die er während seiner Aufenthalte auf der Insel erlebte. „Damen des Lichts“, „himmlische Gestalten“... Wer würde bei diesen Worten von Vater Palau keine spitzen Ohren bekommen? Für viele ist es eindeutig, dass Palau von UFO-Sichtungen sprach. Er beschrieb strahlende Erscheinungen in Form von Lichtkreisen mit über 50 Meter Durchmesser, die aus dem Wasser hervortraten und wieder untertauchten. Auch heute noch vermeiden viele Fischer das Meer rund um Es Vedrà. Sie berichten von Interferenzen in den Radaren und einer Desorientierung der Vögel in dieser Zone. Aber man kann diese Vorfälle auch wissenschaftlich erklären: Es Vedrà gilt als eines der

größten Magnetzentren der Erde. Nach bisherigen Erkenntnissen trauten sich 1950 erstmals einige Bergsteiger, den höchsten Punkt von Es Vedrà zu erklimmen. Zwei katalanische Bergsteiger haben eine andere Legende herausgefordert, die all diejenigen, die es bis auf den Gipfel von Es Vedrà schaffen würden, einen Geschlechtswechsel prophezeite. Selbstverständlich verwandelten sich Francisco Martí und Manuel Puig nach der Bergbesteigung nicht in Frauen. Die Mythen rund um die Insel waren in dieser Zeit schon so populär, dass dieser Vorfall sogar als Nachricht in der Zeitung ABC vom 03. August 1950 erschien. Es Vedrà gehört mit zu dem im Volksmund genannten „Dreieck des Schweigens“ („El Triángulo del Silencio“). Zusammen mit dem Penyal d’Ifac und der südwestlichen Küste von Mallorca bildet die Insel eine Art Bermuda-Dreieck, indem laut Seefahrern und Piloten merkwürdige Vorfälle passieren würden, die nur schwer zu erklären sind. Eine Inspirationsquelle für Künstler, ein Ort geistiger Besinnung, vielleicht sogar eine UFO-Basis oder ein Zuhause für Meerjungfrauen... Ohne Zweifel ist Es Vedrà ein magischer Ort. Man kann ihn am besten von der Insel Ibiza während eines Sonnenuntergangs im Sommer fotografieren.

La bella Montaña de Tindaya ha cumplido 18,7 millones de años. Así lo estiman los científicos que han estudiado este hermoso y solitario enclave de Fuerteventura, también conocido como Montaña de Las Brujas. La Montaña de Tindaya recuerda, tanto en su forma como por sus supuestos poderes mágicos, a una pirámide egipcia. De espíritu solitario, la montaña se alza 400 metros hacia el cielo para observar, desde su altura, los áridos llanos de Esquinzo, tan característicos de la isla de Fuerteventura. Además de un alto valor arqueológico, la Montaña de Tindaya ha dejado múltiples leyendas en la tradición oral de los majoreros. La Cueva del Bailadero de las Brujas es escenario protagonista de uno de estos mitos. La Cueva de las Brujas empieza su cavidad a los pies de la Montaña de Tindaya. Se cuenta que en esta cueva se realizaban rituales esotéricos y que era el lugar donde las brujas iban a bailar a la medianoche.

Brujería aparte, lo que sí es cierto es que esta cueva, también conocida como Cueva de la Señora, fue utilizada durante siglos por los antiguos habitantes de la isla para diferentes actividades, pues se han encontrado en sus alrededores una gran variedad de restos óseos y cerámicos. En los años 70 del siglo XX se descubrieron en la cima de Tindaya hendiduras en la piedra con forma de pies grabadas por antiguos habitantes de la isla, los aborígenes, conocidos como majos. Estas figuras se conocen como podomorfos y es increíble que todavía se conserven estas formas grabadas en la roca desde antes del siglo XV. Sin duda, una suerte mágica. Exceptuando el cercano pueblo de Esquinzo, donde podrás encontrar restaurantes y tiendas, la Montaña de Tindaya se encuentra envuelta en un halo de misterio y soledad. Pero existe un camino sinuoso que te llevará a conocer los secretos que esconden sus colores.

The beautiful mountain of Tindaya has turned 18.7 million years old. This is the estimate from the scientists who have studied this beautiful and solitary enclave of Fuerteventura, also known as Montaña de Las Brujas.

The Mountain of Tindaya reminds of an Egyptian pyramid, thanks to both its form and its supposed magical powers. This mountain rises 400 meters into the sky, and from the top you can observe the arid plains of Esquinzo, so characteristic for the island of Fuerteventura. Besides its high archaeological value, the Montaña de Tindaya has left many legends in the oral tradition of the majoreros – the locals of Fuerteventura. The Cueva del Bailadero de las Brujas is the main scene of one of these myths. Also known as the Cave of the Witches, it begins at the foot of the Mountain of Tindaya. It is said that esoteric rituals were performed in this cave and that it was the place where the witches went dancing at midnight.

Witchcraft aside, what is certain is that this cave, also known as Cueva de la Señora, was used for centuries by the ancient inhabitants of the island for different activities. The proof in the form of a large variety of skeletal and ceramic remains has been found in the surroundings of the cave. In the 70s of the twentieth century, some cracks in the stone were discovered on the top of Tindaya. They had the form of feet engraved by ancient inhabitants of the island, the aborigines, known as majos. These figures are known as podomorphs and it is incredible that these remains are still preserved in the stone from before the 15th century. Without a doubt, it is a magical luck. Except for the nearby town of Esquinzo, where you can find restaurants and shops, the Montaña de Tindaya is enveloped in a halo of mystery and solitude. But there is a winding road that will take you find out the secrets that are hidden in the colors of the mountain.

Der schöne Tindaya-Berg ist 18,7 Millionen Jahre alt. Dies schätzen Wissenschaftler, die diesen beeindruckenden Berg auf Fuerteventura erforscht haben und der auch “der Hexen-Berg“ genannt wird. Der Tindaya-Berg erinnert, sowohl aufgrund seiner Form als auch wegen seiner angeblichen magischen Kräfte, an eine ägyptische Pyramide. Als eine Art einsamer Geist erhebt sich der Berg 400 Meter in den Himmel, um von dieser Höhe aus die trockenen Ebenen von Esquinzo, charakteristisch für die Insel Fuerteventura, zu beobachten.

Neben seinem hohen archäologischen Wert ist der Tindaya-Berg Ursprung vieler Legenden, die von den Einwohnern Fuerteventuras mündlich überliefert wurden. Die „Höhle des Hexen-Tänzers“ ist Schauplatz einer dieser Mythen. Sie befindet sich am Fuß des Tindaya-Berges. Es wird überliefert, dass in dieser Höhle esoterische Rituale abgehalten wurden und die Hexen hier immer um Mitternacht einen Tanz abhielten.

Abgesehen vom Hexen-Mythos wurde diese Höhle (auch “Höhle der Dame“ genannt) jahrhundertelang von den Ureinwohnern für verschiedene Aktivitäten genutzt. In ihrer Umgebung wurden zahlreiche Skelett- und Keramikreste gefunden. In den 1970er Jahren wurden auf dem Gipfel von Tindaya Risse im Stein, in Form von Füßen, gefunden. Diese sollen von den Ureinwohnern Fuerteventuras stammen, die im Übrigen auch „Majos“ genannt werden. Diese Figuren sind als „Podomorfos“ bekannt. Es ist erstaunlich, dass diese noch vor dem 15. Jahrhundert in den Felsen geprägten Formen immer noch erhalten sind. Ohne Zweifel hat hier die Magie mitgespielt. Abgesehen vom nahegelegenen Dorf Esquinzo, in dem sich Restaurants und Geschäfte befinden, wird der Tindaya-Berg von Geheimnis und Einsamkeit umhüllt. Aber es gibt einen gewundenen Weg, auf dem man die Geheimnisse hinter seinen schillernden Farben entdecken kann.

Pero durante su estancia en Berlín cayó rendido ante el arte urbano y se nutrió de su cultura para acabar convirtiéndose en Street artist.

his Majorcan artist graduated in Fine Arts and with the background in illustration wanted to experiment with the secret nature of anonymity from the beginning of his career. He began his artistic journey working in galleries of Madrid, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Stockholm, and even Mexico. But during his stay in Berlin he fell in love with urban art and changed his path to become a street artist.

Aguiló escoge rincones urbanos donde crea a sus personajes anónimos impregnados de poesía y costumbres. Las personas que imagina, fruto de las raíces más cotidianas, se convierten en el máximo exponente del carácter de la sociedad mallorquina sin caer en el clásico folklore. Personajes sin nombre que existen para despertar las emociones más recónditas de los viandantes. Aguiló busca contar historias, indagar en las sensaciones, admirar lo más corriente. Como apreciar la sabiduría de la tradición oral de los mayores, tal como plasma en las dos mujeres que charlan tranquilamente en el mural del edificio Beatriu de Pinós de la Universitat de les Illes Balears. También busca despertar emociones a través de la carga emocional de la infancia, como consigue con el niño que se encuentra jugando con sus trenes de juguete frente la estación del Ferrocarril de Sóller en Palma, como si ya se encontrase soñando qué quiere ser de mayor. Los rincones urbanos preferidos de Aguiló se encuentran en el Casco Antiguo de Palma, donde él ha confesado que encuentra una magia especial. El artista juega con el papel y otros elementos, en pequeños y grandes formatos. Su arte no busca ser reivindicativo ni complicado de entender, tampoco que su arte quede impregnado eternamente. Aguiló busca atrapar a las personas por un instante, que su arte sea un viaje momentáneo a la memoria. Aunque se caigan a pedazos, sus obras hasta acaban siendo restauradas por otras personas que han quedado hipnotizadas por su presencia. Los mismos observadores se involucran en su cuidado para que sus personajes jamás pierdan la vida.

His characters are born from the everyday roots, and they represent the nature of Majorca’s society without turning itself into the classic folklore. Characters with no name exist to wake up the deepest emotions of pedestrians. Aguiló seeks to tell stories, to dive into sensations, he admires the ordinary. He invites us to appreciate the wisdom of the oral traditions of the elderly, reflected in the two women who chat quietly in the mural of the Beatriu de Pinós building of the University of the Balearic Islands. He also seeks to awaken emotions through the emotional charge of childhood that he illustrates with the child who is playing with his toy trains in front of the Sóller railway station in Palma, as if he were already dreaming about his future.

Die bevorzugten Orte von Aguiló befinden sich im historischen Stadtzentrum von Palma, da er dort eine ganz besondere Magie spürt. Der Künstler arbeitet mit Papier und anderen Elementen, in kleinen und großen Formaten. Seine Kunst ist nicht kämpferisch, nicht kompliziert und soll auch nicht für die Ewigkeit bestimmt sein. Aguiló will seine Betrachter für einen Moment einfangen und ihnen eine Reise in die Erinnerung schenken. Viele seiner Werke zerfallen nach und nach. Aber sie werden von anderen Personen wiederhergestellt, die sich von seiner Kunst hypnotisiert fühlen. Die einstigen Beobachter verwandeln sich somit in Instandhalter seiner Werke und verhelfen seinen Kunstfiguren zu neuem Leben.

Quizás el nombre de Karly-Marina Loaiza no te suene mucho, pero si te digo Kali Uchis estaremos hablando de la estrella revelación de la música negra y pop de Estados Unidos de estos últimos tres años. La joven americana de ascendencia colombiana (1993, Pereira, Colombia) ha publicado hace unas pocas semanas su primer larga duración Isolation (EMI, 2018); un álbum muy esperado por la calidad de sus EP’s predecesores y por la colección de super productores con los que siempre cuenta. Y es que no es para menos, Thundercat, DJ Dahi, Steve Lacy, Jorja Smith, Two Inch Punch, Gorillaz / Damon Albarn, Kevin Parker / Tame Impala, Tyler The Creator, Badbadnotgood, Bootsy Collins… son algunas de las colaboraciones que participaron en la producción del álbum. El disco calza 15 cortes de pura sensualidad, que van pegando botes sobre los diferentes estilos que se cuecen actualmente en el panorama de la black music actual: Funk, Hip-Hop, Chill Trap, Neo Soul, R&B, Doo-Wop y sobre todo sonido puro West Coast. Es cierto que hay ciertos paralelismos de su trabajo con Amy Winehouse: look, actitud y un derroche de calidad en cada una de sus canciones. Ya lo demostró en su EP debut Por Vida (2015) con hits en Spanglish como “Rush” junto a los canadienses Kaytranada y Badbadnotgood. En Isolation, encontramos una mejora, si cabe; todos los tracks están cuidados hasta el último detalle. Destacamos “Tyrant” junto a Jorja Smith, el primer single que publicó el año pasado y recientemente ha lanzado el nuevo videoclip para dicha canción. Ambas están soberbias. Pero sin duda el hit del disco es la colaboración entre el joven Tyle, The Creator y la leyenda del funk Bootsy Collins. Un track con toques surrealistas y frescos sobre todo en los versos de Tyler que junto a la instrumental nos conducen al universo del auténtico FLOWER BOY. En definitiva, estamos ante uno de los mejores discos de R&B y Soul de este 2018, eso sí, con toques muy personales y bien mezclado con las diferentes interpretaciones musicales actuales. Un trabajo muy escuchable, pinchable, que a más de uno le sacará una sonrisita y un bailoteo en su coche, su casa o donde sea que esté gozándolo. Larga vida a la preciosa Kali [fornia] Uchis.

The album has 15 cuts of pure sensuality that are playing with different styles, used in the panorama of current black music: Funk, Hip-Hop, Chill Trap, Neo Soul, R&B, Doo-Wop and above all, pure sound West Coast. It is true that there are certain parallels between the work of Kali and Amy Winehouse: look, attitude and a waste of quality in each of her songs. In short, we are facing one of the best albums of R&B and Soul of this 2018 with very personal touches and that is well mixed with all the different current musical interpretations. In der Zwischenzeit schälen wir die Tomaten, entfernen die Kerne, würfeln sie und füllen sie in eine Pfanne, um damit eine feste Soße zuzubereiten. Wir lassen sie bei schwacher Hitze köcheln. Unos de los postres ibicencos más tradicionales son las orelletes (cuyo nombre se castellaniza también como ‘orelleta’). Las orelletes es un postre tradicionalmente ligado a las bodas, donde se servían tras el banquete. Aún hoy en día, es normal que los novios regalen orelletes a los invitados como obsequio, aunque su consumo se ha popularizado y, por fortuna, es posible encontrarlas en muchas pastelerías de la isla en cualquier época del año. Ingredientes • • • • • • • •

1 kg de harina 5 huevos 300 gr. de azúcar Manteca de cerdo una cucharada, más o menos el tamaño de un huevo Ralladura de 1 limón 1 tacita de licor anís 1 tacita de aceite 1 sobre de levadura

Tiempo de elaboración | 1 hora y media Dificultad | Fácil En un cuenco batimos los cuatro huevos y se añade la harina. Mezclamos a mano hasta que se consiga una masa uniforme. A continuación, se le añade el azúcar, el anís y un poquito de licor. Se debe mezclar todo hasta conseguir de nuevo una masa uniforme, cubrimos esta masa con plástico para evitar que se seque (la masa debe reposar unos 45 min). Mientras, calentamos el aceite para freír las orelletes. Se hace una bola a la que se le da forma redonda con ayuda de un cortador y un molde, que bien puede ser un rodillo o una botella. Se fríen. Por último, se espolvorean con azúcar. Tras dejar enfriar las orelletes, toca disfrutarlas. Para muchos, las orelletes están mucho más buenas al día siguiente de hacerlas.

Bis heute ist es üblich, dass das Hochzeitspaar den Gästen Orelletes als Geschenk mitgibt. Dennoch ist der Konsum mittlerweile so populär geworden, so dass man die Orelletes glücklicherweise zu jeder Jahreszeit in vielen Bäckereien auf der Insel kaufen kann. Zutaten • • • • • • • •

1 Kilo Mehl 5 Eier 300 Gramm Zucker Löffel Schweinebutter (Eiergoße Menge) Schale von 1 Zitrone 1 kleine Tasse Anislikör 1 kleine Tasse Öl 1 Packung Backpulver

Zubereitungszeit | 1,5 Stunden Schwierigkeitsgrad | Einfach In einer Schüssel verrühren wir die vier Eier und geben das Mehl hinzu. Wir vermischen Mehl und Eier mit den Händen, bis eine gleichförmige Masse entsteht. Anschließend geben wir Zucker, Anis und Likör hinzu. Nun alles zu einer gleichförmigen Masse vermengen. Danach mit einer Plastikfolie abdecken, damit die Masse nicht austrocknet und 45 Minuten ruhen lassen. In der Zwischenzeit erhitzen wir das Öl, um die Orelletes darin anzubraten. Nun mit Hilfe eines Schneiders und einem Nudelholz (oder einer Flasche) zu einer Kugel formen. Danach frittieren. Zum Schluss mit Zucker bestäuben. Nachdem die Orelletes abgekühlt sind, kann man sie verkosten. Für viele sind die Orelletes am Tag danach sogar besser als vorher.

The Cathedral is where gothic architecture and contemporary art have unexpectedly become neighbors under the hand of Miquel Barceló, who was commissioned to cover one of the chapels.

Miquel Barceló hat die gotische Architektur der Kathedrale mit seiner zeitgenössischen Kunst verbunden. Er wurde damit beauftragt, eine der Kapellen zu bemalen.

Invirtió 6 años en su proyecto y ha creado una excepcional obra de arte, dibujando la inspiración en el milagro de los panes y los peces, cuando Cristo alimentó a 5000 personas con 5 barras de pan y 2 peces. Para crear su trabajo, en realidad Barceló utilizó 2 peces, junto con un vasto cuadro de cerámica de barro agrietado y cráneos humanos.

He spent 6 years on the project and has created an outstanding art piece, drawing inspiration in the miracle of the loaves and fishes, when Christ fed 5000 people with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. To create his work, Barceló actually used 2 fish, alongside with vast ceramic tableau of cracked mud and human crania.

El artista celebra el origen mediterráneo de la Catedral y, como explica el nuevo obispo, “acerca al hombre a los misterios de la belleza de Dios”.

The artist celebrates the Mediterranean origin of the Cathedral and, as the new bishop puts it, “brings man closer to the mysteries of the beauty of God”.

Nach sechs Jahren Arbeit am Projekt hat er ein herausragendes Kunstwerk geschaffen. Inspiration bot ihm dazu die Bibellegende der „Wundersamen Brotvermehrung“, nach der Jesus 5000 Menschen mit nur 5 Broten und 2 Fischen ernährte. Für das Werk hat Barceló zwei echte Fische verwendet und ein großes Keramiktableau aus gebrochenem Schlamm und menschlichen Schädeln.

iquel Barceló is a well-known Spanish contemporary artist, famous for his experimental approach to painting and sculpture. The artist was born in Felanitx, Mallorca, and much of his work can be found on the island. iquel Barceló ist ein bekannter zeitgenössischer Künstler aus Spanien, berühmt für seine experimentelle Malerei und Bildhauerei. aco para los romanos y Dionisio para los griegos, el dios del vino era también conocido como el dios liberador. Representado siempre con un elemento relacionado con el vino, Baco ha sido inspiración de muchos artistas, como el pintor italiano Caravaggio.

Hectáreas de vides bañan los campos de las zonas más rurales de la isla y son dos las denominaciones de origen de las que nos sentimos orgullosos: D.O. Binissalem y D.O. Pla i Llevant.

Parece ser que esta inspiración embelesadora llegó también hasta la isla de Mallorca, donde actualmente son unas setenta bodegas de vino las que ensalzan la isla y la convierten en un destino de cultura vinícola clave.

Un tren que nos hace dar un salto en el tiempo. Por su decoración, pareciera que nos encontramos a finales del siglo XIX. Este simpático tren nos lleva a recorrer las diferentes bodegas y viñedos de la zona d’Es Raiguer, en el centro de la isla.

El vino se ha convertido en un rito ancestral para los mallorquines. Se encuentra presente en la gastronomía, en las celebraciones y en el paisaje.

e líneas sinuosas, formas imposibles y pinturas brillantes, el Studio Weil (studioweil.com) es la más maravillosa obra que la artista norteamericana Barbara Weil nos ha dejado en Mallorca. Fue en la isla donde Weil desarrolló el mayor periodo de sus técnicas pictóricas. En el año 1972 Weil se instaló definitivamente en el Port d’Andratx, aunque ya en 1967 la artista visitó la isla por primera vez. Y no pisó tierras mallorquinas como cualquier otro visitante, sino que llegó a bordo de un yate, desde Holanda hasta Mallorca. Desde ese momento, Weil empezó a enamorarse de la isla, como tantos otros artistas a lo largo de la historia. “Un hogar para el arte”, esto era el Studio Weil para la artista, edificio que creó junto al prestigioso arquitecto Daniel Libeskind en el año 2003. El edificio se diseñó inspirado en la obra de la artista. La arquitectura de Libeskind complementa a la perfección el arte de Barbara, permitiendo que sus obras tengan el espacio que merecen para convertirse en las verdaderas protagonistas del lugar. En el Camino San Carlos, número 20 del Puerto de Andratx se encuentra el Studio Weil. Un edificio blanco, salpicado de esculturas coloridas. Sin duda, un edificio que no pasa desapercibido y que nos deja entrever, ya desde su entrada, el mundo mágico que guarda entre sus paredes y jardines.
