About BizStream Academy

At BizStream Academy, we rede ne the classroom experience by o ering more than just textbooks and lectures. Here, students dive into a dynamic learning environment where they immerse themselves in the fundamentals of web development. Guided by our passionate mentors, students are introduced to languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, crafting their own websites as they learn by doing. Our curriculum is designed to be hands-on and interactive, ensuring that by the end of the program, students don’t just have theoretical knowledge – they’ve built their own website from scratch!

BizStream Academy started because we wanted kids to have the same opportunities some of us here at BizSteam did. It took one person to show me that you can create a website and code with the tools already on your computer. Once I learned that, I taught myself to code, got a few jobs, and eventually built a company. The more opportunities we give kids to learn STEM, the more likely a percentage of them will end up working in a eld related to computer science. These jobs are high-paying, ful lling, in high demand, andwhat the future needs. “

Who is the ideal student for BizStream Academy? Anyone with a passion for technology and a drive to learn can thrive at BizStream Academy. No prior programming knowledge is required! However, due to the fast-paced nature of the class, we have found this program is best suited for students who are 14+. What do I need to attend? Bring your laptop, your enthusiasm, and a willingness to dive into something new! Transportation is required.

It’s all about the care…Did you know that the human eye can distinguish over a million different colors? Or that the human eye can change its focus up to 50 times per second? Did you also know that children should have their first complete eye exam before the age of 5? These are just some of the interesting facts that I learned while preparing to meet with Dr. Tricia Roslund of Allendale Eye Care, located at 11301 Commerce Road in Allendale. If you don’t know exactly where that is, and you’re more of a landmark person, then it’s kind of behind Allendale True Value Hardware.

Community focused, community care: Allendale Eye Care

As for the business side of Allendale Eye care, as Rich and Tricia step back from patient care, they will welcome the arrival of a new pediatric eye care doctor to serve this growing community. Dr. Megan Scott will begin in July and work aside Dr. Austin Loshinskie, who joined the team in 2021. Both Dr Scott and Dr. Loshinskie have their specialized

areas of eye care and will ensure their patients receive the same excellent, continued care that is a tradition at Allendale Eye Care. Plus, many of the same, long-term employees are a part of the team that will serve you!

Tricia and her husband, Rich Conflitti began Allendale Eye Care in 1990 in the strip mall located where the Dollar Tree is now. They moved to their current location (behind True Value) in September of 2001. Rich retired in 2022 and keeps busy with photography as a hobby. He has been involved in community civic organizations over the years and remains active in community events. Tricia is beginning to phase out to a more administrative role, rather than patient care. She remains active on the AACC Board and is heading up the new Allendale M-45 Celebration that is taking place on Saturday, September 14 here in Allendale. Rich and Tricia are also expecting two new grand babies before the end of the year, so they are both excited for what’s ahead in their expanding family life.

A highlight of their summer is a family event they will host this month. On Thursday, June 20 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Allendale Eye Care will host a Frame Show at their facility. There will be food, games, prizes, and fun for the whole family! The frame show will have the latest styles and discounts on every frame! This is a great time to update your glasses and an opportunity to meet and greet their newest Doctor!

At a time when many small town, family owned businesses might choose to sell to bigger corporations or chains, I find it comforting to know that my eye health is a priority at Allendale Eye Care. After all, it is in their name.

Dr. Megan will be available to schedule "Pediatric" patients as soon as July! Get your family scheduled just in time for Back to School.

Dr. Scott received her undergraduate degree from Grand Valley State University. She earned her Doctor of Optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry, where she graduated with honors. Dr. Scott completed internships at the Detroit VA Medical Center, Moses Eye Care, Indianapolis Eye Care Center and Bowersox Vision CenterBowersox Vision Center, where she received more extensive training in Pediatric eye care. She enjoys working with patients of all ages, including medical eye care and dry eye therapy. Megan is originally from Ludington, Michigan, in her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, hiking, traveling, water sports, and recently started playing pickle ball.
