2024: LAUNCH OF THE PHYSICIAN WELLNESS PROGRAM

In 2024, the ACMS Foundation proudly introduced the Physician Wellness Program, an innovative initiative aimed at addressing the growing challenges of physician burnout and mental health This program is designed to offer Allegheny County physicians and residents the support they need to navigate the demanding nature of their profession while maintaining their personal well-being As a Foundation program, it is open to all Physicians, not just ACMS members

Supported by The Physicians Foundation and the ACMS Foundation, the Physician Wellness Program provides up to four confidential, no-cost counseling sessions per year for licensed physicians and residents who live or work in Allegheny County. By prioritizing confidentiality avoiding insurance billing, medical diagnoses, and extensive electronic records the program removes barriers that often prevent physicians from seeking the help they need.

The ACMS Foundation is deeply committed to fostering a resilient healthcare community. This program empowers physicians to prioritize their mental health, ultimately enhancing the care they provide to their patients. By launching this initiative, we are investing in the foundation of our healthcare system: the well-being of the individuals who dedicate their lives to serving others.

The Physician Wellness Program is a testament to the transformative power of collaboration, supported by the generous contributions of our donors Together, we are creating a stronger, healthier future for Allegheny County’s medical community
