Snow activities. Playing snowballs or making a snow angel is always a great deal of fun! Visit the free Angry Birds themed playground in Rovaniemi centre Take a walk in the forest and bake some sausages at a lean-to. Most lean-to’s have a supply of firewood in a depository nearby that is free to use Tobogganing. Loan a toboggan from your hotel or cottage, find a pile of snow and enjoy!

Arktikum Museum & Science Centre is an amazing place for both adults and kids to learn a thing or two about the Arctic Explore Finnish forest with all your senses at the Science Centre Pilke Go ice skating at the Lordi square in Rovaniemi centre. Skating rink is accessible even for beginners and skates can be borrowed on the spot Visit Santa Claus Village, meet Santa and try different winter activities! More info on pages 54–57.
SA N TA PA R K SANTAPARK is Santa’s underground cave where the happy elves live! All year round, they prepare Christmas gifts for Santa, but they also have lots of time for games. In SantaPark you can attend the Elf school and learn some secret elfish skills, practise traditional elf writing and experience the joy of creation in the Elf Workshop. Here, you can also enjoy Four Seasons sleigh ride, taste Mrs Santa’s gingerbread cookies, and play at the Angry Birds Activity area. One of the special places in SantaPark is the Ice Kingdom where you can meet the Ice Queen!

MEET THE REINDEER REINDEER SLEDDING is the most traditional way to move around in Lapland. Most of the year, the reindeer roam free in the forest where they eat well and enjoy their freedom. You can go on a short reindeer ride at the reindeer farm situated at the Santa Claus Village. If you wish for a longer and more immersed experience, visit the Porovaara (Reindeer) fell, situated in a beautiful snowy forest just 20 km away from Rovaniemi. You will go on a 30 minute reindeer sled ride through the wildnerness, and you will also feed the reindeer. Snack by the fire and transfer to the place are also included. Duration: 3 hours.
