C U LT U R E SCIENCE CENTRE PILKE AND ARKTIKUM MUSEUM will provide your family with new cultural discoveries! At Pilke’s interactive playground children and adults can explore the Finnish forests with all their senses, and find out new and useful information about nature. Play games, overcome obstacles, see a huge forestry machine, sing forest karaoke and make a selfie on a big screen. Arktikum is a great place to learn about the history of Lapland and the Arctic in general. The museum is a fun place for kids and adults, as there will be many games and riddles on your path. One thing that all family must do here is to see the Northern Lights show in a special theatre.
R A N UA ZO O RANUA WILDLIFE PARK is the home for the adorable Arctic animals. Situated 80 km from Rovaniemi, Ranua is a great destination for a family day trip. Alternatively, you can stay at the Gulo-Gulo Holiday Village near Ranua. At the Wildlife Park you will meet 200 animals, belonging to 50 different species: brown bears, polar bears, wolves, lynxes, wolverines, moose, foxes, and Arctic birds. To see the animals, you will walk a 2,8 km park trail in the middle of the taiga forest!

A DV E N T U R E PA R K H U I M A ARCTIC ADVENTURE PARK HUIMA, situated at Ounasvaara hill in Rovaniemi is a great place to challenge your climbing skills! The park has nine courses that are elevated up to seven metres above ground! The tracks are made of ropes, tree platforms and sky bridges. The participants can choose their challenge level and will wear harnesses which are secured to safety cables. The park offers adventures for kids with at least 110 cm in height. In the vicinity of the park you will also find pedal car park Vauhti and a disc gold course.

REINDEER are an essential part of Lapland. There are actually more reindeer than people in the whole region! Usually, reindeer like to roam free in the forest, but it’s possible to meet them by visiting local reindeer farms. Santa Claus Reindeer has a small farm at the Santa Claus Village where you can meet and feed the reindeer. Their main farm is situated on a picturesque hill in Rovaniemi’s countryside where the atmosphere is more relaxed. Here, you can take part in various reindeer activities: with a gentle whistle, the reindeer will come to greet you so you can touch them and make photos with them. The program lasts two hours and includes a snack on the open fire. Price for an adult 80€, child 50€. Hiking trip with a reindeer is a truly unique experience. You will see some beautiful landscapes while the reindeer will carry picnic supplies on their back. The program is available 1.5–16.6 & 1.9–1.11.2019.
