Ramadan 2020 When homes become mosques

Abstaining and refraining from things for our own benefit is something that sounds all too familiar in the current climate. With Ramadan now starting, Muslims will be continuing just that; refraining from that which was otherwise

permissible, in an effort to keep ourselves secure. It seems as if the outbreak of Covid-19 and the lockdown that ensued served as a good preparation and training ground for Muslims around the world; to begin their

efforts of abstaining from vain pursuits and staying at home, with family, and focus on prayers in this precarious time. Ahmadi Muslims, through the magnificent tool of MTA, had already been instructed by their Imam, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Vaa, to focus on prayers at home during this period of uncertainty, especially bearing in mind that it is not possible to partake in congregational prayers at mosques. Al Hakam has recently published stories of how Ahmadi Muslims around the world, by the grace of Allah, are benefitting spiritually during the coronavirus lockdown, by studying the Holy Quran, offering prayers as a family and bonding with one another in a manner that was not possible before due to other obligations. Thus, the main difference that Muslims will experience this Ramadan, as compared to the past few weeks, is that of hunger and thirst. Hadith-e-Rasul – Sayings of the Holy Prophet Muhammadsa

Observe fasts Hazrat Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: “Observe fast on sighting it [the new moon] and break [the fast] on sighting it [the new moon], but if the sky is cloudy for you, then complete the number [of thirty fasts].” (Sahih Muslim)

Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas, In His Own Words

For every illness there is a cure – The broader connotation It is not true to say that a person has the power to adopt certain morals, but not others. Not at all! There is a cure for every ailment, or in other words ُ ‫ل ِ ِ ّل َدا ٍء َد َو ٌاء‬ It is a pity that people do not give due regard to this blessed saying of the Holy Prophetsa and consider its scope limited to physical illnesses alone. How ignorant and erroneous is such a view! Just as there are means available for the improvement and well-being of the physical body, how is it possible that Allah Almighty would have provided no remedy for the spiritual ailments of man? Indeed, there are, without a doubt! It is a sure and certain fact that Allah the Exalted helps those who help themselves. However, the indolent and idle are ultimately ruined. (Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas, Malfuzat, Vol. 1, p. 133)
