During the month of March, Key Club has not stopped serving. Throughout the month we participated in two events! The first one was Indians Give. Indians Give is a one day service, where the community comes together to clean up the area by our High School. Each club was assigned a role/job to work on. Key Club got the fun role of painting the baseball dugouts. On March 5th we arrived at our school, gathered together, and ate a quick breakfast. After eating and gathering all the information needed, we split up. All the clubs parted ways to start their project Once we got there, we all started assembling our paint rollers and paint sticks. We managed to finish within 2-3 hours, since we had a good amount of people!
On March 22nd we attended the YMBL Rodeo!! It was such an incredible experience. Our job as Key Clubbers was to help kids that needed assistance up the stairs. We needed to make sure the young kids wouldn't trip and fall. An estimate of 1,500 kids went that day. After we did that, we entered the arena. Next, was handing out the food. PNG Key Clubs job was to hand out everyone's lunches. Sometimes people needed assistance to bring the food to the children, so in that case we would help the adults carry them back.
I wanted to give a special shoutout to our Key Club advisor! Mr. Boucher was selected for Teacher of the Month!! Mr. Boucher has done so much for our school and community. He does an amazing job teaching young adults in Key club to be service-oriented, caring, and compassionate people. Values that will shape us into the adults we strive to become. Our advisor has definitely made a difference in our community, school, and life. " You don't serve because you want recognition. You serve because you're a difference maker," Mr. Boucher states. His words express what being a Key Clubber is all about. I'm sure I can speak on behalf of our PNG Key Club, when I say that Mr. Boucher is a hard-working, selfless, and passionate teacher. Congratulations to our AWESOME ADVISOR!!
