Programs

For our youngest visitors, we offer a very successful Toddler Touchdown Programthatrunsinsixweekssegmentsforparentsandchildrenundersix.In this program, we read stories, complete crafts, work on gross motor skills throughsportandplayandencouragesocialinteractionanddevelopment.in 2022weranthisprogramsixtimeswith56familiesregisteredintotal.

Our Beyond the Classroom education program continues to be popular with schoolsacrossthecentralcorridor.Thisprogramcontinuestobesponsoredby the Royal Bank Foundation. Coming out of COVID we had set a goal of 1000 students in the program. We surpassed that with 1429 students. Lasting Traditions continues to be our most popular program with a focus on Indigenous sports and culture. Our strategic plan was to develop one new program prepared for the spring of 2023 and we were revamped our popular Fair Play and Respect to talk about relevant issues and target grade 9-12 students.Wedidtrialthisprograminthewinterof2022withgreatsuccess.

In the summer of 2022, we hosted two week-long day camps at the hall for youth aged 6-12. They explored different themes from STEM to trying new sports and active living. Each day was filled with activities, outdoor play, and movement. Bothcampsweresoldout.

Our Choose Your Own Adventure Rental Program was extremely successful in its inaugural year. We rented out snowshoes and fat tire bikes in the winter months and electric scooters, electric-assist fat tire bikes, and electric assist bikes. We had over 150 rentals go out in 2022. This initiative was designed to help encourage visitors of all ages to get outdoors and active and was supportedwiththehelpofaTravelAlbertagrant.
