OUTREACH

OneofthetopprioritiesoftheAlbertaSportsHallofFameisoutreachand takingourartifacts,HonouredMemberAlumni,andAlberta'ssporthistory outintothecommunityandacrosstheprovince.

In 2022 we were given the unique opportunity to coordinate the presentation of 50 Queens Platinum Jubilee Awards to deserving Albertan's for their contribution to sport in four cities. It was wonderful to seeourHonouredMemberAlumnicometotheseeventsinsupportofthe recipients.

Based on the goals outlined in our strategic plan, the Hall attended four sports award ceremonies including the Grande Prairie and Lethbridge SportsHallofFameinductionsthisyear.

The Hall was on site for five major sporting events across the province including the Arctic Winter Games in Fort McMurray and the IIHF World JuniorHockeyTournament.WewereonsitefortwoWHLhockeygamesin additiontotheGretzkyHlinkaCup.

As part of our ongoing efforts to increase our presence and attract new visitors to the hall, staff was onsite at ten different Central Alberta community events. Some of the events we attended included the Sylvan Lake Winter Fest, the Central Alberta Family Expo, Town of Innisfail's Snow andTumbleweeds,andtheCentralAlbertaTeachersConvention.

Alloftheseeventsdidseeareturnaswehaveimprovedourrelationships with several of the smaller Halls of Fame and community sports organizations. In addition we saw a noticible increase in the number of visitorstotheHallin2022.
