Integrating cabinetry with a complex ceiling design presents several challenges, especially when rooms transition without defined walls, like the pantry on the north wall. Achieving clean visual lines between cabinetry and intricate ceiling details, such as coffered or beam-accented ceilings, requires exact alignment and coordination across trades.
Lighting placement often presents a unique challenge. Recessed lights, also known as can lights or pot lights, must be centered for aesthetics but also strategically placed to avoid ceiling framing and structural elements. Balancing those constraints while maintaining proper lighting and support requires precise planning and on-site adjustments. Despite the complexity, the final result flows seamlessly, creating a unified, architecturally cohesive space.

Built-ins: A Balancing Act of Creative Execution
Designing and constructing a custom wall unit around windows — like this dramatic office installation — is both an art and a test of technical precision. At first glance, the symmetrical layout appears effortless, but the reality is anything but.
The challenge lies in achieving perfect alignment when working with real-world conditions: walls that aren’t perfectly plumb, floors that slope ever so slightly, and framing lumber that naturally varies. Human expertise meets geometric expectations here, and even the tiniest imperfection can throw off the visual harmony.
Integrating windows into the cabinetry layout adds another layer of complexity. Window placement must be perfectly aligned within the cabinetry grid, which requires painstaking measurement, millwork, and on-site adjustments. Every cabinet box, every trim piece, and every shelf must accommodate the reality of construction variances while delivering the look of crisp perfection. The final result is a stunning wall of built-ins that frames natural light while offering functionality and beauty. It’s a testament to the precision and experience required to make complex millwork feel simple.

Jarom Iacono brings over 20 years of hands-on construction experience and an unwavering passion for creating homes that truly reflect his clients’ dreams. Beginning his career in the trades, Jarom quickly stood out for his integrity, vision, and heart—qualities that earned him the honor of becoming the youngest President of the Salt Lake Home Builders Association in 2016. He believes building a home should be a collaborative and inspiring journey, making the process as enjoyable as the final result.
Outside of Alair, Jarom is a devoted husband and father of three who loves sports, working on cars, and mentoring within his community. Known for his approachable leadership and problem-solving expertise, Jarom has guided Alair Salt Lake to earn numerous awards for quality, innovation, and trust—embodying the very lifestyle he helps others create.
JESSIE IACONO | PARTNER
As a founding partner of Alair Homes Salt Lake City, Jessie Iacono combines emotional intelligence, visionary leadership, and a client-focused approach to custom home building. She brings over a decade of experience in construction financing and accounting, ensuring every project is grounded in financial precision and insight. Her background in storytelling and human development influences her approach—centered on trust, collaboration, and deep listening.
Jessie leads with integrity, compassion, and a passion for excellence. She is also a dedicated wife and mother of three, balancing her professional dedication with her family life, bringing warmth and relatability to everything she does.
KAREN TIBERIUS VP OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Karen is dedicated to delivering a pure concierge experience to every client. With two decades as a licensed real estate professional and a deep understanding of custom homebuilding, she guides clients through the building process with clarity, care and intention.
A lifelong learner, Karen continually studies strategy, marketing, sales psychology, and body language—skills she uses daily to communicate effectively, anticipate needs, and create a seamless, confident client experience. She also cultivates trusted relationships with top interior designers, architecture firms, and trade partners, ensuring each client has access to the right team to bring their vision to life— beautifully and intelligently.
STANTSON MILES PROJECT MANAGER
Stantson is a detail-oriented project manager at Alair Homes Salt Lake, with a BYU Construction Management degree and over five years of experience building custom homes. Known for his steady leadership and deep construction knowledge, he brings both technical expertise and integrity to every project.
As a husband and father of two daughters, he understands the importance of creating homes that support families. Whether coordinating timelines, inspecting sites, or ensuring the client’s vision is met, Stantson is committed to quality and clear communication. Outside of work, he enjoys hunting, playing soccer, and spending time with his family.
SHANE MORRISS SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER
With over 30 years in construction, Shane Morris brings expertise and leadership to every project. He founded Interwest Insulation in 1990, became a licensed general contractor in 1994, and has developed four subdivisions and built more than 150 homes in Utah. Now as Senior Project Manager at Alair Salt Lake, he’s known for his calm presence, industry knowledge, and effective management that keeps projects on track.
Shane is a proud father and grandfather who loves mountain biking, cycling, and connecting with people. His approachable style and respect for others make clients adore him, and he genuinely believes great builds happen when everyone feels heard and valued—something he consistently brings to every project.
TRACE TIBERIUS OFFICE MANAGER
Trace is the operational backbone of Alair Homes Salt Lake. He builds, defines, and continuously improves the processes that keep projects running smoothly and the team aligned. From managing internal systems and documentation to ensuring compliance with licensing and insurance requirements.
Before joining Alair, Trace built a 35-year successful career in manufacturing, working to fulfill rigorous military and automotive standards and leading his team to obtain ISO 9001 quality certification. That same discipline and attention to detail now guides everything he does at Alair. Trace brings steadiness and confidence to every project.
TRUMAN EARL GENERAL CARPENTER
As a dedicated craftsman, Truman is committed to supporting the team and ensuring project success. Truman has two years of industry experience, focusing on safety, precision, and efficiency, helping our project managers keep everything running smoothly.
His attention to detail and strong work ethic make a real difference on every project, as he consistently strives for excellence in support, schedule management, and quality workmanship. His dedication and hard work contribute significantly to the seamless execution of our builds, making sure each project meets the highest standards.
