“Most homeowners have a renovation story. This one has a happy ending. We updated every surface of the home including a redesigned kitchen and primary bathroom and added several architectural details.
Renos take time and usually run over budget. It’s impossible to know all the challenges you will face until you see what’s behind the walls, ceiling and floors. Add to this, the challenge of getting the trades you need, precisely when you need them. While not easy to manage, as homeowners we still expect good quality workmanship completed in a timely manner. Our project turned out beautifully with Alair Homes. Yes, it took extra time to complete but there were contributing factors including changes to the scope by us. From start to finish we had strong confidence in the people and process of Alair. The Alair team has a talented network of subtrades. They kept an open and honest dialogue with us throughout the project. The Alair process includes real-time access to the project spend and transparent view of each sub trade and supplier invoice which provided further comfort. Alair also took full accountability when a couple things didn’t go as promised and were very reasonable in resolving them to our satisfaction.
No renovation or contractor is perfect but this is our 5th major reno and we can confidently say Alair has been one of the best.

We were looking for builder who could work with us as far as the timing and payments go as construction was started before we had sold our property in Vancouver. At the initial meeting we laid out what we were looking for with the budget we had in mind. I wanted a “wash and wear” building with top of the line workmanship. I said I would come every week with my level and square. To our delight, that is exactly what we got. Excellent drywall finishing, tight and square carpentry, amazing tile work and perfect detailing. Alair kept us in the loop weekly, so we had no surprises, everything was approved by us before it was done. We loved our new house from day one and today we love it even more.”
