1 A MURAL SPEAKS MORE THAN A THOUSAND WORDS

The City of Brotherly Love is also known as the city of murals thanks to its long-running Mural Arts project. Every installation in the city has a significant and special meaning.

This year, in LOVE Park, right across from City Hall and where most protests begin around equality, racism, and issues plaguing our community, a mural installation around the 2020 election has popped up. #ToThePolls2020 is a nonpartisan initiative and has recently made LOVE Park home six large-scale mural installations, all of which are painted by Philadelphia-based artists.

The mind behind the idea is Conrad Benner, a Philly native who owns the Streets Dept., a long-time photo-blog that discovers and showcases art in the streets of the city.

La Ciudad del Amor Fraternal es también conocida como la ciudad de los murales gracias a su continuo proyecto de Artes Murales. Cada instalación en la ciudad tiene un significado significativo y especial.

Este año, en el Parque del AMOR, justo enfrente del Ayuntamiento y donde la mayoría de las protestas comienzan en torno a la igualdad, el racismo, y los problemas que afectan a nuestra comunidad, ha aparecido una instalación mural en torno a las elecciones de 2020. #ToThePolls2020 es una iniciativa no partidista que ha alojado en LOVE Park seis instalaciones murales a gran escala, todos ellos pintados por artistas de Filadelfia.

La mente detrás de la idea es Conrad Benner, un nativo de Filadelfia que es dueño del Departamento de Calles, un foto-blog de larga data que descubre y muestra el arte en las calles de la ciudad.
