Birmingham – What's On guide – From December 2024

Page 1

Welcome to THE ALEXANDRA

We’ve enjoyed another wonderful selection of shows during the latter part of 2024.

In August, talented youngsters put on an incredibly successful Stage Experience production of The Sound of Music, earning rave reviews and achieving the highest net box office figures in the production’s history. They’ve raised expectations for next year’s The Wizard of Oz –our 20th Stage Experience, so a landmark moment, but we’re up for the challenge!

Talking of landmarks, we launched the UK leg of the Blue Man Group: Bluevolution World Tour in September and in November, hosted the world premiere of HERE & NOW – The Steps Musical, based on the music of pop superstars, Steps.

We’re also offering the outrageously funny and multi award-winning musical The Book of Mormon throughout December.

I’d like to give a shout-out as well to colleagues behind the scenes who were shortlisted as finalists for two awards in the Midlands Marketing Awards in September. Theatre is a team effort and it’s nice to celebrate our successes both on and off-stage.

You play your part too with your continued support, and we look forward to seeing you again for what we’re sure will be another great year at The Alex in 2025.
