After 26 years of commitment to Ajax, Tom Daquanna has decided to throw his work boots in the trash! When I first got to Ajax in 1997, Tom was well on his way to becoming Area Manager of Area 3, which was in Palmetto back in those days. Little did Tommy know about how much of his free time I was about to take from him over the next few years, bending his ear while having a beer! I, as have so many through the years, went to Tom for his knowledge, guidance, patience and keen ability to always read the situation and handle accordingly. Then in 2004, we decided it made sense to merge Area 3 and Area 5, so we combined Areas in Tampa where Tom took on the challenge of Construction Manager for the entire group. This is where he was at his best and remained until retirement in December 2020. I am certain all of the top quality people we have here today in Tampa are a direct result of Tom’s leadership over the last 26 years. Enjoy it (I know you will) you have earned it! Thank You for everything!

Bob “The Shredder” Popielarz has been with Ajax since 2000. At that time, he brought a high level of experience from his formative years paving for several outfits in Michigan. Bob was welcomed on board and relatively quickly moved into the Foreman position. Over his years at Ajax, Bob has paved enough road at 6” thickness to get him from Plant 1 all the way to his home in Manistee, Michigan! He had a “get-it-done” attitude and was greatly respected by his crew members and the Ajax family for almost two decades. Bob will surely be missed by everyone at Ajax and we wish him the best in the future and that he enjoys retirement. Godspeed, Bob!
