The holiday season is a time to reflect on the year, express gratitude, and connect with those who make a difference in our lives. Wehavealottolookforwardtoin2025.Thebacklogofpavingcontinuestobe steadyandhealthy,whichkeepsushungryandbusy.Ourpavingworkisthe backboneofwhatwedo,andsomeupcomingprojectsfor2025isfrictioncourse onSR80,finishingtheSanibelCausewayroadway,RSW,andPGDAirport,andall thenumerousstate,county,city,andprivateprojectswehavethepleasuretoput ourstampon.Again,IwouldliketoechowhatGarrettmentionsoftenthroughout theyear.Whethertheupcomingprojectsarelow-bidorbased onreputation,wearealwaysamongstthetoptobeawarded theworkbecauseallofyouaredoingit.Youshouldallbeproud, asyourextensionoftheCoreValuesandbeingtheChoiceare thereasonsforthissuccess

ThiswasquitetheyearinTampa.Ourteamwaschallengedwithoneofour busiestyearseverinthisareaandrespondedwithexceptionalperformance.We werehitbytwohurricanesbacktobackandcamebackfromeachstormwithall handsondeckwillingtohelpfellowemployeesandthecommunity.Ajaxwas taskedwithsomedifficultemergencycontractstohelpwithclean-upandthe wholeteamwaswillingtojumpinwhereneeded Ourteamhadanotheryearwith veryfewinjuries Keepingsafetyintheforefrontissomethingthatwehave continuedtodoyearafteryearanditshows.

IhaveworkedforAjaxintheTampaareafor20plusyearsandhaveneverbeen proudertoworkforAjaxinTampa.

Asweconclude2024,Iwouldliketoextendmy gratitudetoallplantemployeesfortheir exceptionalhardworkandcommitmenttothe successofthisyear.Despitethehighdemand, maintainingtheplantsandensuringtheir functionalityhasbeenchallenging.

Thishasrequiredextendedhourstokeepourplantsrunningsmoothly Additionally,itcanbechallengingtoensureproperstaffingandemployee training,andIappreciatetheefforteveryonehasinvestedinmakingthisa success.Inthecurrentmarket,wehaveseenanincreaseofover20%inasphalt salescomparedto2023.Thisproductionlevelhasrequireddedicationfromour plantpersonneltomeettheincreaseddemands.

DuetounfortunatecircumstancesatourFt.Myersplant,wehadtoreplaceour plantoperatorsinashorttimewhilemaintainingaveryhighproductionlevel.The newoperatorsinFt.Myershavereallysteppedupandlearnedfromtheground uphowtoruntheplantandloadouttrucksinatimelyandefficientmanner.This isourhighest-producingplant,andwiththelargenumberofcustomersthatthe planthasdaily,ithasproventobeverychallenging,andtheteamhasrisento thechallenge.

Ajaxremainscommittedtogrowth. Weareinvestinginourequipment andensuringthatourplantsare equippedwiththenecessary improvements.Asignificantupgrade willbeimplementedatPlant1in NorthVeniceinDecember2024. Theseupgradesinvolveinstallinga newdrum,burner,andrapfeeder, enablingtheplanttoincrease productionandmeetthegrowing marketdemands

Iamveryexcitedabouttheimprovementmadeatallofourplants.Overthe years,wehavehadanissuewithdumpingasphaltonthehoodoftrucks.Along withbeingunsafe,thishasalsobeenverycostly Ourelectricianshavedeveloped, implemented,andinstalledanewsystematalltheasphaltplantstopreventthe humanerrorassociatedwithloadingtrucks

InAugust,westartedrollingoutournewpreventativemaintenanceprogram,and weexpectthistoimproveplantuptimeandqualitysignificantly.Duetohowbusy weare,thisprogramwilltakesometimetogetrunningthewaywewantitto,but Iamconfidentthatitwillbeverybeneficialtotheplantsandtheirabilitytomeet Ajax’sfutureneeds

Overall,thishasbeenafantasticyearforall5ofourprimaryTPRteams(Operator Care,Auditing,CLAIRE,RCA,andCommunications)aswellasforoursteering council,whichinpartcomprisestheindividualteam'ssponsors. Improvedoperatorcaretrainingandhowwenowtrackthetrainingprograms.A team-basedtrainingapproachhasrapidlybecomethestandardfortraining. Thisshouldguaranteethatmorepeoplereceivequalitytrainingwithgreater frequency.

Theauditingteammadeveryeffectivechangestoalmosteveryaspectofits operations.Allauditsarenowconducted3timesperyearforallofour primary-useplantandfieldequipment.Theteamalsocreatedanewwayof trackingandreportingallaudits.Also,newauditformshavebeendevelopedfor mostequipment.Thiswasachievedwiththehelpanddirectinputofour mechanicsandwillbeginatthestartofauditingin2025 Moreformsareinthe worksandwillbeimplemented.Wearenowsuccessfullyandmuchmore accuratelyauditingmoreequipmentperauditcyclethaninprevious years.

InLakeWales,wehadexcellent communicationandcoordinationwith theQCfield(Mr.SantanaandMr. Campo),QClab,andplantoperations (includingconsistentQCfieldandpaving crewoperationswithelevatedlevelsof density)onourSR64projecttoensure anoverallCPFof1.02whichincreasedour reputationandprofitability.Additionally, we’veenduredatoughhurricaneseason. Ourorganization,WomanRaisingtheBar, representedAjaxattheGirlScoutFeston September28th.Therewereover1,750attendees thatcamefromCitrus,Hernando,Hillsborough, Marion,Pasco,Pinellas,PolkandSumtercounties. Duringthisevent,thegirlscoutsexploredpaving operations,craftedroadsigns,andtookphotoson aroller.WealsocollaboratedwiththeGirlScoutsof WestCentralFloridatocreatethe

patch,whichaimstoinspiregirlsbyhighlighting careeropportunitiesforwomen abrighterfuture.

OnNovember16th,AjaxPaving IndustriesofFlorida,LLChosted31 girlsandadultsfromtheGirl ScoutsofWestCentralFloridaat ournewlocationinLakeWales Thedaybeganwithasafety briefing,followedbyhands-on experienceswithroadway equipmentandalookintoan asphaltqualitycontrollab.Participantstouredtheplanttolearnaboutasphalt productionforroadconstruction Theeventwrappedupwithafunactivitywhere theymade"asphalt"cookiesandinteractedwithapanelofwomeninthe industry.Thegirlsearnedtheir“PavingtheWaytoSuccess”communitypartner badgeandthe“Tea&Talk”badgeduringthisvaluableexperience.
