Aia Las Vegas Government Affairs Committee

Chris Lujan, AIA Chair

With the Nevada State Legislative Session in full-swing, the impacts of conversations had over the next few months immediately extend beyond 401 South Carson Street. AIA Members across Nevada once again have connections to these conversations thanks to a strong lobbying team and focused government affairs committee (GAC). Representatives of AIANV, AIALV, and AIA Northern NV are actively tracking proposed legislation and acting upon voicing member interests. As discussed during January’s AIALV Membership Meeting, Designing The Framework For Advocacy, the GAC is dedicated to advocating on behalf of the collective legislative issues related to our profession. Over the last month, our leadership has attended the LVGEA’s Legislative kick-off event, Governor’s State of the State Address, Las Vegas Mayor’s State of the City Address, and AIA Leadership Summit in D.C. Thanks to an expanding network of allied members, our representation has also included topics which are parallel to architecture. This comprehensive engagement will continue beyond this session and will define our mission to advocate and amplify the voice of the AEC industry. We look forward to growing our presence in 2023 and ask for your support and engagement in this process.
