From the Desk of Jeff Krejdl I hope that everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving. I know that we all have many things to be thankful for, and this is the time of year to reflect on those and show gratitude and thanks to those in your life who truly bring you joy. As we finish harvest at Ag Valley, we are certainly thankful for you and your trust in us when handling your crop this fall. We have rebounded from the drought of 2022, and our elevators (and a few bunkers) are full of corn, soybeans, and milo. There has been strong demand for corn all through harvest, and we have been moving your production into the marketplace through the rail and truck markets. We will continue to see an active shipping schedule over the next few months as we work to pick up the bunkers and get everything under a permanent roof. Construction continues on the new bin in Maywood and the new bin complex in Edison. Our open weather so far has allowed the concrete crews to get the below-ground work done. That will enable them to keep working through the winter. I am excited for those projects to be ready for you for harvest next fall. We are a few weeks away from having our new office ready in Arapahoe. We have a walkthrough with the contractor and the engineer later this week. Then our IT department has some work to connect the building to our network. Once that connection is established, we can start the moving process. The new office will allow our team to conduct business more efficiently and have the space necessary for our expanding needs. We are excited about a future where we can collaborate more efficiently and better serve our members. Our agronomy team has been extremely busy positioning Ag Valley Co-op in the marketplace as you begin locking in your inputs for the next growing season. The fertilizer market continues to be extremely volatile, and we are constantly looking for the right opportunity to bring in fertilizer at a value that benefits you and Ag Valley Co-op. The crop protection market seems to follow suit, and Kirk continues to watch that closely. Please consider doing so if you have not touched base with your Ag Valley agronomist about your inputs for next year. We want to make sure that your needs are covered. I'd like to personally invite you to join us at Ag Valley Co-op's Producer Summit on December 6th. We have lined up Agronomy, Energy, Feed, and Grain industry experts, as well as keynote speaker Dr. David Kohl. The summit's purpose is to provide you with education to help you and your opperation succeed. The time between Thanksgiving and Christmas always seems to go by so fast. I hope you have a safe and happy holiday season; spend time with family and loved ones, and remember what this joyous holiday season is all about. Again, thank you for your business and continued support of Ag Valley Coop. We know that you have options for your agricultural needs, and we will work hard every day to continue to earn your business. Thanks, and Happy Holidays! Jeff Krejdl
