IT’S MIDNIGHT IN AMERICA Bobby E. Mills, PhD The question for every Godfearing American is what time is it for you? What are you willing to do about the democratic state of socio-political conditions in America? Midnight is the darkness time period in a 24-hour time period. Too many Americans are making spiritually dark decisions in daylight. When (73+) million Americans voted for a chronic habitual lair for President, they are on the other side of midnight worshipping the devil, and the great grandchildren of slaves saved America from the abyss of self-annihilation. Moreover, let’s not think about the fate of Ukraine as a democratic nation with a Putin sympathizer as President of the USA would be. The Trump Administration appointed (3) justices to the Supreme Court giving the court a super ultra-privileged oriented conservative majority that is hell bent on stripping women and minorities of their Human and Civil Rights. This will take America to the other side of midnight. January 6th, 2021 was a bold spiritually dark attempt to institute autocracy during the Trump Administration, which in turn, placed America on the other side of midnight. Thus, we have order without law and equal justice, because when police officers can execute unarmed Black men for misdemeanors, it is midnight in America. When you have a major political party that will not secure and defend the Civil Rights of every American citizen to cast his/her vote you are on the other side of midnight. When intelligent individuals cannot discuss 1619, which is America’s original sin, we are doomed to repeat the sins of the past. Godfearing Americans, your vote can spiritually bring America out of the darkness of the Prince of Darkness (devil). There is no life in darkness, because what life do we have if we do not have life in the light of God. America, what do you do when you are on the other side of midnight? The spiritual answer is that individuals must live in the light of God’s truth, because “If we say that we have fellowship with him, and we walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” (1 john 1: 6-7). Praise be to God. Prayerfully, the Biden Administration brought America out of the spiritual darkness of the worst International Pandemic in over one hundred years which has killed over (1) million Americans. The Biden Administration has done the following: saved tens of millions of American families and businesses from financial ruin, passed a (1.2 billion dollar) infrastructure bill to rebuild America’s physical infrastructure, canceled over (9.5) billion dollars of student loan debt, rebuilt America’s credibility and moral integrity with NATO and the European Union, created conditions for a thriving economy that has America with its lowest unemployment rate in decades, which in turn, makes inflation controllable. All these things were done in the daylight of democracy, not autocracy, and for all Americans regardless of socio economic statuses. Question: do we desire “Make America Great Again/Make America White Again” based upon White Privilege for the few (something for nothing) or do we desire “Build Back Better” for all Americans? In the 2022 midterm election the choice is between the midnight of the past or the spiritual light of democracy for all Americans in the future. Amen.
