WINGS NEWSLETTER Dear Parents and Friends of Sunderland

Vol 16, Term Four, Week Two, 23 October 2020

We have now concluded our second week of Term Four and the second week of the Cambridge Examinations. At this early stage, I want to compliment the students on their focus and attitude as they are entering the exam sessions. Everyone would appear to be well prepared yet relaxed. May this continue. Mr Stephens and his team of invigilators are doing a great job of overseeing this process. Next week it is the turn of our Upper Primary and Lower College to take some examinations also. Again, I have been impressed with the attitude of our young scholars within class and in the library too. I'm sure the process will go well!

Between now and then, we have Labour Weekend, an opportunity for everyone to take stock – relax a little and use that extra day as efficiently as possible. For those of you who don’t know, a very famous New Zealander – Samuel Parnell, the architect of the eight-hour working day is recognized this weekend for developing the concept of eight hours work, eight hours sleep, and eight hours play. The concept has basically been rolled out across the world. Thank you, Samuel Parnell!
