2023 Year of: POWERED BY PRECIOUS PROMISES
One of the most profound instructions that God gave to man in the garden of Eden was to “be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it.”. (Genesis 1:28NLT)
God gave mankind charge over all that He had created. When we understand that we are called to be stewards (managers) of God’s resources, our attitude in the way we handle everything around us changes. We learn to live intentionally, putting effort into growing and improving our gifts and talents. We eliminate things that waste our time and cause us to procrastinate. We start to live beyond ourselves to the glory of God. And when we are faithful in the mundane things, we shall see great things. There will be progress, advancement, and fruitfulness in all that we undertake.
Jesus also illustrates this principle in Luke 19:11-27, which shares the same message. In this, we will be called to account for how we used the gifts God has given us.
May your faith be stirred up as you read the articles in the proceeding pages. In this edition, you will read of the testimonies of God’s power working in the lives of His people. Get acquainted with the ministry activities happening here at ALFC.

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10)
Centuries before scientists had figured out the connection between blood and life, these words were recorded in the scriptures: “…the life of the flesh is in the blood” (Leviticus 17:11, KJV). With advances in medical science in recent years, a lot about us can now be known by simply running tests on our blood samples. The world has understood this point and now unquestionably applies it every day.
What the world (and some in the church) is yet to realize is that this principle of the connection between physical blood and flesh is only one side of the coin. The other side of the same coin is the principle of the connection between spiritual wisdom and wellbeing (prosperity). This second connection is the key to a vibrant, strong and long life – spirit, soul and body.
Where the wisdom of God flows, answers and solutions for wellbeing abound. This is true regardless of whether you are talking about the wellbeing of an individual, family, community or a nation. Consider this instruction in Proverbs 3:7-8: “Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.” (KJV).
The statement “health to your nerves, and marrow to your bones” speaks about our physical health as well as our general wellbeing – spiritual, mental, social and financial prosperity. In other words, the wisdom of God is to our lives what healthy blood is to the body. There cannot be wholesome prosperity outside the wisdom of God. The wisdom of God and our wellbeing go hand-in-hand.
To ignore the wisdom of God in a rush to take things into your own hands is to settle for something less than wellbeing. There are many people whose lives have a semblance of wellbeing when in reality things are out of order. For example, Zacchaeus, the tax collector, was a rich man and everything seemed to be in order in his life (Luke 19:1-10). It was not until he had a personal encounter with Jesus that he got exposed to the wisdom of God, and was suddenly willing to sow what he had gained from his former lifestyle in exchange for a life of greater wellbeing.
Elsewhere in the scriptures, we have record of men and women who attained victory in the most unlikely circumstances because they got a hold of the wisdom of God. In the book of Genesis, we see Joseph prospering a household, followed by a prison and ultimately a nation at risk of a famine because of his access to the wisdom of God. In the 6th Chapter of 2 Kings, we see the king of Israel escaping several ambushes on his life by the king of Syria because of the wisdom of God that came through the life of Prophet Elisha.
Have you been looking for wellbeing in places other than the wisdom of God? All you have to do is stop and change course like Zacchaeus did, and watch the wheels of wellbeing take you to a higher life – wellbeing like you’ve not known before.
John the Baptist was a man given a loud voice, a powerful message, words that cut deep even into the Pharisees’ hearts, spiritual sight and insight to know who Jesus was, all as resources to him. But these resources were attached to a purpose; to announce the coming of Christ (John 1: 6-23).
Jeremiah was given the power to pull down kingdoms, uproot and tear down, to build and raise up through a very strong prophetic gift. This too, was also for a purpose; to constantly return God’s people to Him whenever they fell short (Jeremiah 1: 4-16)
As we talk about using the resources God has given us, we must start with the first thing. Purpose! Why has God given us these resources? Why has He given you that voice, that level of wisdom, that tenacity, those people skills, the ability to make money easily? Many people do not seek purpose, and as a result, they use their resources for self-aggrandizement, self-elevation, self-enrichment; and all the while, heaven is shaking its head! Things like giving and serving others with those gifts become such a burden to you because you think these gifts are for you!
When John the Baptist was asked who he was, (because of how people were being drawn to him as a result of the resources he had), he did not point to himself but rather to the One who was coming after Him (John 1:22-23). And that’s the secret! Our resources are not meant to promote us but rather the Kingdom of God and its King – Jesus Christ! If we understand this, we will do the following:
Always inquire of the Lord (be a person of prayer) about how to use what He has given us for His glory. This will take away the selfishness in our hearts as we seek to serve our neighbors, workmates, business partners, and the community with our resources.
Always seek to advance the kingdom agenda in our workplaces, communities and friendships using our people skills, brilliant minds, money-making ability, and resources. This will cause us to be excellent, exemplary and kind at our work and also observant to the needs in our communities as ambassadors of the Kingdom.
Always remember we are stewards of all these talents and resources. This view will take away any aspect of abuse or misuse of what God has given us. If we do not know the purpose of something, we abuse that thing. That holds even for the resources God has given us. But if we realize we are stewards, then we will seek to improve, multiply, nature and increase these resources as any good steward would; and not bury them under any excuses of lack or opportunity, shyness, laziness and the like (Mathew 25: 14-30)
If this is our mindset, the question of how we utilize these resources will now become much easier since we know the purpose and we will seek to galvanize these resources for that purpose. Live with a Kingdom mindset and God will inevitably, by His Spirit, guide you. And Jesus will be glorified through all you have been entrusted with. In that way you will increase every day!

Entebbe, Wakiso | At the beginning of this year a prophetic word was given at ALFC on how the Lord was going to help to redeem time, and release the grace to mature and multiply. Lydia got a hold of this, and has experienced such a magnitude of growth in her spiritual life, health and callings like never before. At her workplace, Lydia had an overwhelming workload that had a number of targets to be accomplished before the end of the year. Some of which were to be completed in the first quarter. Amazingly in the last week of March 2023, she called on God for help and she received a prophetic word of uncommon favour and divine speed during worship in one of the Sunday services. The week following, she had a meeting with two of her superiors before whom she found favour and divine speed. The assignments given to her were well explained and she was guided on how to accomplish them. Glory to God.
Namusela, Wakiso | Dinah testifies about the power of Holy Communion. Her first child, Karen, had very little appetite ever since her birth. Karen stopped breastfeeding by herself before turning one year. Her meals started with supplements so as to give her appetite to eat. This was her routine for a long time. When Karen begun schooling, she started falling sick frequently. The doctors told her mother that her body was weak and couldn’t support itself. As time went on, God blessed them with a second child, she too had the same habit of not eating and preferred only breastmilk. In August 2022, Dinah chose to put her trust and faith in God. She gave her children Holy Communion in faith believing for a total turn around in the situation. As always, God never fails. Her daughters’ appetite was restored. Since then, they eat very well. Karen’s health too was made whole, she no longer falls sick. Praise be to our Father God.

While walking in the direction of your life’s purpose, one has got to interact and manage the gifts and talents God placed in him. You see, we were all given talents/gifts by God. Some singers, some teachers, some hope givers, the list is endless. Being vessels of these talents makes us responsible to grow and reveal them to the world. We are to use them to full capacity.
In Matthew 25:14-23, Jesus likened the kingdom of heaven to a man travelling to a far country but lives his servants with talents in different amounts. On His return those that multiplied their talents and brought the master profit were praised. Just like these servants, we too are supposed to use and multiply our God given talents. You can ask the Lord to help you discover your talent or gift, then walk in it every day.
