GIRARD-PERREGAUX PRESENTA EL NUEVO COSMOS INFINITY EDITION, LA ESENCIA INFINITA DE LAS COLECCIONES MÁS ATEMPORALES DE LA MARCA VESTIDA DE PURO ÓNICE NEGRO El Cosmos Infinity Edition incorpora nada menos que tres complicaciones excepcionales. En primer lugar, su jaula del tourbillon en forma de lira, mantenida en posición gracias al característico «Neo-Bridge» de Girard-Perregaux. En segundo lugar, un globo terrestre, ubicado a las 3 h, que diferencia de modo muy llamativo entre el día y la noche. Y, en tercer lugar, un globo celeste con las constelaciones del Zodíaco. Ambos globos, fabricados en ónice pulido, se han decorado a mano con técnicas de pintura en miniatura. Estas técnicas artesanales incluyen la aplicación de oro rosa en ambos globos, que constrasta de forma sublime con la piedra de ónice negra. La pintura a mano de los globos puede personalizarse según las preferencias del cliente. En astronomía, la hora terrestre es la medida del tiempo, definida por el movimiento orbital de la Tierra, El Sol da una vuelta a la Tierra cada 24 horas. La hora celeste, por su parte, más conocida como hora sideral, es igual al período de rotación de un objeto celeste. De manera resumida, la bóveda celeste vuelve a su posición original respecto a la Tierra en solo 23 horas y 56 minutos. Este modelo ofrece la posibilidad de ver las constelaciones de esa bóvedad en la esfera y, a diferencia del mundo real, sin que la contaminación lumínica ni la falta de luz lo impidan. El globo terrestre, a la derecha de la esfera, gira 360° cada 24 horas, mientras que el celestial, enfrentado al anterior, gira 360° cada 23 horas y 56 minutos. Una diferencia de velocidad apenas perceptible por el ojo humano y que, sin embargo, demuestra la meticulosa atención al detalle de Girard-Perregaux. El tourbillon se presenta en la base de platina. De este modo, se mitiga la influencia adversa de la gravedad sobre el volante y, en consecuencia, se mejora la precisión. Sobre la abertura del tourbillon, se encaja un Neo Bridge, fabricado en una aleación de titanio de grado 5 de alta tecnología con tratamiento de PVD negro. Gracias a este puente y a la gran abertura, es posible dejarse hipnotizar por la visión de la jaula del tourbillon girando y el volante y el escape en movimiento. que todas las complicaciones se alinean en perfecta simetría. Y para hacer aún más patente esa sensación de equilibrio, el reloj prescinde de la corona convencional. En su lugar, este modelo incorpora un innovador sistema de cuerda y ajuste en su parte posterior, que recuerda a los relojes de bolsillo de antaño. El sistema de ajuste incorpora tres grabados, con cerámica luminiscente de relleno, que indican el propósito de cada clavija. El calibre GP09320-1440 se ve enriquecido con un acabado de la mayor calidad. El Neo Bridge de titanio, presentado en la base de la platina, está tratado en PVD negro y arenado e incorpora un biselado realizado a mano.

e Cosmos Infi nity Edition features no fewer than three extraordinary complications. First, it comes with a lyre-shaped tourbillon cage that is held in position by Girard-Perregaux’s hallmark “Neo Bridge”. Second, there is a terrestrial globe at 3 o’clock that diff erentiates between night and day in a very captivating way. And third, it has a celestial globe showing the constellations of the Zodiac. Both globes are crafted in polished onyx and hand decorated using micro painting. is technique involves the application of rose gold to both globes, off ering a wonderful contrast with the black onyx. e hand painting on the globes can be personalised as desired by the customer. In astronomy, time is measured according to the movement of celestial bodies in the sky. It is customary to measure a day according to the Sun’s position with respect to Earth, which is referred to as a solar day and has an average duration of 24 hours. Meanwhile, a sidereal day is a measure of the time it takes for the Earth to make a full rotation on itself, which in fact takes 23 hours, 56 minutes and 4 seconds. is model displays an awesome view of the constellations in the sky, untainted by the light pollution found in the real world. e terrestrial globe on the right side of the dial makes a full rotation every 24 hours, while the celestial globe on the left side of the dial makes a full rotation every 23 hours and 56 minutes. is diff erence in speed is barely noticeable to the human eye yet demonstrates Girard-Perregaux’s meticulous attention to detail. e tourbillon cage, a feature that helps off set the eff ects of gravity on the balance wheel and thus improve accuracy, is held in position by the Neo Bridge that spans the base of the mainplate. e Neo Bridge, for its part, is crafted in a black PVD-treated titanium alloy. anks to this bridge and a large opening, it is possible to succumb to the hypnotising dance of the rotating tourbillon case and the moving balance wheel and escapement. e design of the Cosmos Infi nity Edition ensures that all complications are aligned in perfect symmetry. And to further enhance this sense of balance, the watch does not have a conventional crown. Instead, it uses an innovative winding and setting system on the back that recalls the pocket watches of yesteryear. e setting system is based on three bows, called “bélières”, with luminescent ceramic fi lling indicating the purpose of each one. e GP09320-1440 calibre features extraordinary fi nishes. e titanium Neo Bridge is black PVD-treated, sandblasted, and decorated with hand bevelling.
