Thoughts Thoughts The LTG's The LTG's

Hey everyone! to be honest, there's not much to recap from this past month besides our amazing new divisional project! I'm very excited to see all the different ideas you might have for volunteering! School is slowly, and unfortunately, creeping up on us very soon. With school starting, it means your clubs will really start to grow in activity, so just remember that if you ever need any help or just have a question, don't be afraid to contact me! Although I know school is a busy time for everyone, I hope to see effort and also excitement put into each of your clubs, since that's gonna be what new members are looking for! Our next DCM we'll cover recruitment, so make sure to come to it! Unfortunately, I won't be able to say this month's album in full, so the abbreviation will have to do! NFR by Lana Del Rey is, in my opinion, her best album so far in all the categories. Both Lana and Billie are my favorite artists EVER, so you'd understand my sadness seeing them compete at the 2019 Grammys... But NFR truly does deserve its flowers just due to how beautiful it is lyrically, plus it really does give off that summer vibe (just in a more depressing way)!

Updates Updates

With school beginning next month, I plan on having our DCM before it starts! It'll more than likely be either the 12th or 13th, depending on which day works better for my schedule. I'll of course post the decided date and time on the instagram once I figure it out, so keep an eye out for that! Also, since this is our last DCM before school starts, I definitely recommended going as we'll go over different things relating to club fairs and membership!

I've officially announced our division's project! "Seedlings of Success" surrounds pushing younger students to be their best selves, inside and outside of school. I've posted the complete information as well as volunteering ideas in the Instagram, so go and check it out!

School starting means kicking your clubs into full gear! I still am unfortunately missing some school's information, so please try and fill out the contact form located in our linktree. On top of that, if you still haven't held elections by this point, I strongly encourage you complete them by the start of school!

YOF Grant YOF Grant

Youth Opportunities Fund (YOF) is an endowed fund available for clubs to help assist with carrying out service projects. The fund grants anywhere between $250-2,000, but can only be received once per year. Clubs must also be in good standing before you can qualify to receive a grant, meaning that the yearly dues have been paid.

Applications are done in two cycles; the deadlines are October 15th and March 1st. You must also determine prior to applying what your budget might be for your project. This can be decided by discussing what resources and money your club might already have, and how much money you still need to carry it out. After finalizing everything, clubs must create an account on Foundant, which is where you'll officially apply.

To figure out a service project to hold, clubs should conduct a community needs assessment in order to find out what project would be the most impactful. This can be done by finding any issues or challenges that your community might face currently, and how your club can solve that issue through service.
