Thoughts Thoughts The LTG's The LTG's

Hi division 25s/31! By now, I assume everyone's started school again for the year, so good luck and have fun getting your clubs back to being the best they can be! This issue will cover some recruitment tips that I also presented in our August DCM for you all to utilize with your own clubs. Something else very important also coming up is our Regional Training Conference! This is an in-person training experience for all club officers, as well as people who believe they might like to run in the future. The RTC will take place September 16th, check page 4 for more info! Lastly, just a reminder to check your emails frequently as I will be starting to send out emails more than likely biweekly to keep everyone updated on the latest news. Thank you, and have a great start to school!
This months album is from Laufey! She's a jazz artist that's become more popular as of recently, as she should! Her music is always so vibrant with whatever emotion it's trying to express, which is what makes her songs so impactful. She has such a unique mark on all her music that just listening to the first beat you'll immediately recognize that it's her. She has a new album coming out next month, so if you haven't listened to her music, I highly recommend it!

Updates Updates
Dues are an important part of membership, so remember to remind your clubs as much as possible. This year, dues are $14. That's $7 for International and $7 for District, and if you need to add more for your own club funding, then don't forget to add that too! The early bird deadline is November 1st, while the regular deadline is December 1st. If you're also planning on making a club shirt, make sure to inform your members about the cost of that as well.

With school starting, I'm going to start sending out biweekly emails containing important info that you're all going to need. I strongly encourage you all to check your emails frequently so you don't miss anything! Also, if you haven't already, follow our @todivision25s31 Instagram.
For our next DCM, I'm going to send out a form similar to when we were scheduling our first DCM. It'll just be to figure out the best time and date for everyone since school and other activities have started. You can find the form in our linktree on Instagram!

Tips Tips Recruitment Recruitment
If you haven’t already, create an Instagram account for your club. I highly recommend using Instagram over other social medias as I find it to be the most impactful when it comes to informing and finding a greater audience
Keeping your account active is very crucial, since not only does it keep your members up to date, but it also shows that your very wellorganized and proactive. Have fun with it! Put out creative and exciting graphics that will reel in members for whatever it is that you're promoting.

Posters are a very common, but also effective, source of promotion. Creating fun and eye-catching posters to hang around your schools are a must when it comes to reaching out to students.
When making posters, make sure not to clutter information all into one place Keeping things organized is much easier to understand
Try and include some exciting news or info that you believe might encourage new people to join, or at least come to a meeting

Club fairs are made to offer time to clubs to really promote themselves to a direct audience. During a club fair, I highly recommend to make one or two tri-folds or posters that goes in depth about Key Club, and how impactful it can be. Looks are very important here too, so setup an exciting booth full of color and other eyecatching themes

Include a small fun game to reel people in, this can be like a short trivia. Make sure to include candy as a reward!

The best way to promote something I believe is by hearing it physically. I know you all probably have friends throughout multiple grades, so just kind of promote it (shameless plug if you may) through your conversations! Asking teachers to maybe allow you all to do an informative presentation during your classes would be very helpful, so it doesn't hurt to ask!
Having an info meeting before your regular meetings start is important as it's an invitation to potential members to get a taste of what to expect without having to worry about payments right away.
RTC RTC 2023 Region 3 2023 Region 3

The 2023 region 3 RTC has officially been scheduled! If you're not sure what an RTC is, don't worry! a Regional training conference (RTC) is an opportunity for all club officers, as well as future potential officers, to come and receive extra in depth training of their positions for the year. Attendees are also able to learn more about different aspects of Key Club, from parliamentary procedure to LEDCON 101!
This year's RTC will be Saturday, September 16th from 2-5 PM. Like last year, it will be held at Jenks High School in the building 6 multipurpose room (205 E B ST). Snacks will be provided, but if you're able to bring something as well, that will be highly appreciated! On top of the forum presentations, we plan on holding a service event for all attendees to participate in. This year's event is "Cards for Service", where we'll be writing and decorating uplifting messages for hospitalized children and their families. Resources will be provided during the RTC.

YOF Grant YOF Grant
Youth Opportunities Fund (YOF) is an endowed fund available for clubs to help assist with carrying out service projects. The fund grants anywhere between $250-2,000, but can only be received once per year. Clubs must also be in good standing before you can qualify to receive a grant, meaning that the yearly dues have been paid.
Applications are done in two cycles; the deadlines are October 15th and March 1st. You must also determine prior to applying what your budget might be for your project. This can be decided by discussing what resources and money your club might already have, and how much money you still need to carry it out. After finalizing everything, clubs must create an account on Foundant, which is where you'll officially apply.

To figure out a service project to hold, clubs should conduct a community needs assessment in order to find out what project would be the most impactful. This can be done by finding any issues or challenges that your community might face currently, and how your club can solve that issue through service.

Through service, you can all help participate in the projects and make a huge impact in your communities!
