THE APDO ALUMINUM FREE MAKING PROJECT IS A THREE (3) STORY FACILITY WITH TWO (2) STORIES OF EQUIPMENT PLATFORM ABOVE. APPROXIMATELY 25.26 FEET (7.7 M) FROM THE FIRST FLOOR LEVEL TO THE ROOF OF THE HIGHEST ACCESSIBLE FLOOR. THE GROUND AREA IS ABOUT 1450 SF, THE BUILDING AREA IS ABOUT 5200 SF. THE FACILITY WILL BE BUILT STICK TO EXISTING APDO MAKING ZONE. THE MAIN FACILITY AREA WILL BE EQUIPPED WITH AN AUTOMATIC SPRINKLER SYSTEM AND WILL INCLUDE A FULLY OPERATIONAL FIRE ALARM AND DETECTION SYSTEM. THE MCC ROOM AREA WILL BE ENCLOSED BY 2-HOUR FIRE RATED BUILDING ELEMENTS, AND NO SPRINKLER SYSTEM IN THIS ROOM. THE FIRST FLOOR IS CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT ROOM AREA. THE SECOND FLOOR IS SKID OPERATION PLATFORM, MCC ROOM(TBD). THE THIRD FLOOR IS PROCESS EQUIPMENT PLATFORM AREA. THIS FACILITY WILL BE LOCATED AT BROWN SUMMIT PLANT-SITE, GREENSBORO, NC 27214.

HOWEVER, IT HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED BY THE SUPPLIER THAT THE MATERIAL APPEARS TO NOT SUSTAIN COMBUSTION. ADDITIONAL INDEPENDENT TESTING CONTRACTED BY P&G OF VARIOUS PROCESS RECIPE MIXES WITH CYCLO HAVE CONFIRMED THAT THE MIXES DO NOT SUSTAIN COMBUSTION. P&G IS CURRENTLY HAVING INDEPENDENT TESTING OF THE NEAT CYCLO CONDUCTED TO CONFIRM THAT IT ALSO TRULY DOES NOT SUSTAIN COMBUSTION.(TBD) THE BUILDING AND FIRE CODE EXEMPTS MATERIALS THAT HAVE A FLASH POINT GREATER THAN 95 F, ARE WATER-MISCIBLE, AND THAT DO NOT SUSTAIN COMBUSTION FROM ANY REQUIREMENTS AS FLAMMABLE OR COMBUSTIBLE LIQUIDS. WHILE CYCLO IS NOT WATER-MISCIBLE, IT MEETS THE OTHER CRITERIA (AND ITS FLASH POINT IS NEAR DOUBLE (179%) THE MINIMUM FLASH POINT FOR THE EXEMPTION. AS SUCH, PRELIMINARY HAZARD ANALYSIS INDICATES THAT IT WILL MEET THE INTENT OF THE CODE EXEMPTION (CONCEPTUALLY, IT IS LESS THAN HAZARDOUS THAN III-B COMBUSTIBLES, WHICH HAVE UNLIMITED CONTROL AREA MAQS IN A FULLY SPRINKLERED FACILITY – ESSENTIALLY TREATED AS NON-COMBUSTIBLE FROM AN OCCUPANCY CLASS PERSPECTIVE) BASED ON ANALYSIS ABOVE, THE NEW ALUMINUM FREE MAKING AREA WILL BE CLASSIFIED AS F1 (MODERATE HAZARD FACTORY) OCCUPANCY, (NO CHANGE IN OCCUPANCY FROM EXISTING AREA F1 OCCUPANCY, AND NO NEW H2 OR H3 AREA ADDED TO FACILITY)
K. FIRE EXTINGUISHERS
PORTABLE EXTINGUISHERS PROVIDED THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE BUILDING AND SHALL BE SELECTED AND INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA 10. A MINIMUM OF ONE FIRE EXTINGUISHER WITH A MINIMUM OF A 2-A RATING WILL BE PROVIDED FOR CLASS A HAZARD AND 20B FOR CLASS B HARZARD, BUT IN NO CASE WILL THERE BE LESS THAN ONE FIRE EXTINGUISHER PER FLOOR. FIRE EXTINGUISHERS WILL BE LOCATED SO THAT IT WILL NOT BE NECESSARY TO TRAVEL MORE THAN 75 FEET IN ANY DIRECTION TO REACH THE NEAREST UNIT EXCEPT PROCESS AREA USING COMBUSTIBLE LIQUIDS. FOR THE PROCESS SIKD AREAS, THE TRAVEL DISTANCE SHALL NOT
