Since passing the June 2018 Philippine Architecture Licensure Exam, I have engaged in freelance projects as a professional architect. On a case by case basis, this work involves concept presentations, professional consultations, permit applications, contract bids and project management among full architectural services.
university of the philippines, campus architect
As a government employee at the Office of the Campus Architect, I presided over a number of renovation projects within the U.P. Diliman Campus. This work involves the preparation of bid documents, calculation for construction estimates or providing technical assistance, as requested by the different colleges or government agencies on campus.

I served as the head of a team of junior architects, and occasionally interns, that prepare the conceptual architectural designs for tentative projects and design competitions. Specializing in concept presentations, conducted in-depth research packages for clients. Also assisted in the production and preparation of drawings from the schematic stage upto construction stage.
Working under the direct supervision of the Principal Architect and as his sole junior, I helped prepare architectural designs, from the conceptual design phase up to construction stage. This work involved project site visits, concept presentations and the preparation of construction drawings.
With this title, I served as the primary point of contact for external constituencies on relations pertaining to the Principal Architect. I accompanied him to executive meetings with clients and consultants. I functioned as his public relations coordinator for all speaking engagements locally and overseas. I also assisted with publications and award nominations for the projects of the firm.
An in-house published Architecture Magazine, I took over the editorial board for the Special Edition Anthology Festival Publication. Layoutting, editting and publishing were all accomplished in time for distribution at the 2020 Anthology Festival held at Intramuros, Manila.
For the annual Architectural Festival, over 20 lecturers and 50 student competitors travel from around the world to attend the event, all of which fell under my management. As the head of a team of volunteers, any matters regarding the guests during their stay in the country was channeled through me. This involved the logistics and coordination required for each individual schedule over the course of the 3-day festival.
Under the tutelage of a Registered Architect, I drafted and plotted the architectural, electrical and plumbing plans required for the application of building permits for projects.
About me
For my undergraduate thesis, I proposed a public park facility in Manila that would formally house the local Philippine games that are played everyday by school children in the middle of the streets. The main concept was to devise a cooperative effort of the city to keep all children safe regardless of social class, while preserving and promoting the charm of the timeless street games. To this day, I focus my efforts to create architecture that is inclusive, and also playful. I find that architecture is most effective when it highlights its local neighborhood contexts — spaces that cater to the meandering passerby and amuse the wandering mind . As I continue to explore my amour for architecture, through studying new programs, experimenting with different mediums, and travelling the world, I carry with it the perspective of a true Filipino Architect. Padayon!

To Whom It May Concern,
When I first met Arianna, she was applying to the company as a fresh graduate from the country’s top university, with an eagerness for knowledge and a self-certainty of her potential. These qualities emboldened me to hire her on the spot as my architectural assistant, a decision that I did not come to regret. Throughout the loyal six year duration of her employment at WTA Architecture and Design Studio, she was under my direct report. While she started out as a junior architect and the first member of the company’s business development arm, as a senior architect she took on several leadership roles in the company such as overseeing a team of junior architects, as well as interns.
Arianna was always a dependable team player, willing to assist with any practical or technical tasks. Her effective communication and presentation skills were invaluable to the projects and competitions where she was involved. This was highlighted with her contributions to the 75+ Emergency Quarantine Facilities that the company built in April 2020 as makeshift auxiliary spaces for hospitals at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. After project managing the design and build of a temporary Pavilion in Intramuros Manila entitled “No Virgins” a few months prior, the main concepts of this were adopted to design the EQFs. The success of this project earned the company a number of recognitions, including the B1M Construction Story of the Year in 2021.
With her affable qualities and overall good-nature, Arianna is sure to quickly adapt to any work environment she enters. Equipped with the knowledge and experience of a young architect from a top Philippine design firm, I trust that she can effectively contribute to the diversity of the design workforce and landscape in the US.
I highly recommend her as an asset to any organization within architecture. Please let me know if I can provide any further information to strengthen Arianna’s candidacy for employment.
Cheers, Principal Architect
