An especially breathtaking view of the Mayon Volcano and its perfect cone is clear from the Embarcadero de Legazpi, a commercial mall originally built in 2010 along the gulf of Albay. It is surrounded by residential neighborhoods and connected to the local loading docks and major port terminal. While contextually rich, the absence of cohesiveness to these elements has left the Embarcadero de Legazpi in its current state, overlooked and lackluster.
Challenged to trigger a renaissance of life back into the development, the proposal aims to reimagine the Embarcadero as a safehouse for creatives and artists in the Philippines. With the introduction of striking forms, bright colors and interesting pathways, the mall creates a diversified experience for all. Using Art as a Catalyst, the Embarcadero de Legazpi establishes itself as a center for life, leisure, pop, creativity, self-improvement and beauty.
