Kevin and Theresa Beirne established a family Auctioneering practice in 2005 in Castlebar, with a focus on core values of service, value for money and supporting every client with tailored requirements on each sale. 12 years on, we are now the biggest selling auctioneer in Mayo, achieved by having realistic prices and so meet our client’s expectations. Our offices are located on the junction of Tucker Street, New-Antrim Street & Linenhall Street in Castlebar town centre. The building is steeped in history as Michael Davitt held meetings here in the 1870’s which led to the foundation of the Land League. The building has been know as “Land League House” ever since. There is little point having the inside of your property perfect if the outside doesn’t reflect this, people will just drive past. This need not be an expensive process, giving your front door a fresh lick of paint or weeding and tidying the front garden is sometimes all that is needed.
Room temperature is important in creating an inviting ambience within your home. Ensure your property is kept warm and cosy in the Autumn and Winter time - light your coal fires, log burners and turn up your heating system. In Spring and Summer time your property should be kept aired and cool.
KEEP IT CLEAN AND FRESH.. It may seem obvious but ensure everywhere is clean and tidy, this is especially apt for bathrooms and kitchens. You don’t want viewers to mistake an unclean bathroom or cluttered kitchen for one that needs replacing.
REPAIRS AND IMPROVEMENTS... Do take the time to make all those niggling DIY repairs you have been meaning to do over the years. As outlined earlier, first impressions count for everything.

As moving house can be a stressful time, we have put together a guide to help you in the weeks approaching your move. We aim to exchange contracts as soon as possible, then the following arrangements can then be confirmed with certainty.
3 WEEKS TO GO... Obtain or confirm estimates and removal dates and addresses from removals firms. Ask about packing, unpacking & insurance during your move. If you are moving yourself, check your home contents insurance policy for cover in transit and at your new address. Correspond with your Building Society / Bank and any credit card companies advising them of your new address and amending standing orders etc.
MOVING CHECKLIST... Arrange for water, electric, gas, telephone and other accounts to be finalised and sort out the new accounts for your new home. Book an electrician and plumber, if required, to disconnect and refit appliances from your old address to your new address. Notify your dentist and doctor for your medical records to be transferred to your new practices. Confirm school transfers. Inform your employer of your move, confirming whether you require time off work. You may also want to arrange for someone to look after any young children and pets during your move.
