WORLD WAR JOY The year 2019 started off strong as Michael shared he proposed to his long-time girlfriend, Crystal. From then on, the band ran at full-speed as they released the Lie to Me music video, dropped new music and announced a joint tour with the Chainsmokers. Around this time, 5SOS also shared details about their philanthropic endeavor, Friends of Friends. Through this organization, 5SOS would donate proceeds from merch or shows to nonprofits of their choice. For example, in May, 5SOS played a small show at Sayers Club in Los Angeles alongside All Time Low, Alexander 23, Sierra Deaton, Watt Zeppelin and others. All of the funds collected were donated to Safe Place for Youth in Venice, CA. As the year continued, the band released singles such as Easier and Teeth, giving fans a glimpse of the new sound the band was pursuing – a little more rock and a little more mature but with 5SOS’s signature flair. In September, the band embarked on the World War Joy Tour with Lennon Stella and The Chainsmokers. The three acts played at arenas across the country, allowing each artist’s fans to be exposed to different styles of music. The year ended with a quick Jingle Ball tour in cities such as New York and Boston. Fans flew into these cities from across the world to celebrate the end of another massive year, completely unaware and unprepared for what the world would look like in just a few months

MEET THE FANS Isabella M. (@isabella_mayle) Isabella first became a fan of 5SOS in 2012 after finding out about the band when she bought a “Heartthrob” book from a book fair at her school. Drawn in by the fact that One Direction was in it, she discovered 5SOS in there as well! Isabella looked the band up on YouTube and quickly fell in love with them and their music. She has seen them on tour eight times: ROWYSO Hershey, SLFL Hershey, SLFL Bristow, 5SOS3 Silver Spring, MYT Vienna, MYT York, MYT Allentown and WWJ Atlanta. Some of Isabella’s favorite 5SOS moments include Carpool Karabloke, any videos she sees of them onstage and Tattoo Roulette with James Corden. She believes the best thing about 5SOS is how much they care for their fans. They make her feel better, even when she’s having a rough day. Hearing their music makes her feel so happy and confident. Her favorite 5SOS songs are No Shame and Airplanes, for which she happens to have a tattoo. If she could tell 5SOS one thing, she would thank them for bringing her three of her best friends. 5SOS has been one of the best things in her life. They have given her some of her best friends and have helped her grow creatively. They inspire her to be better and to push herself every day to follow her dreams. Isabella is so grateful that she found them all those years ago. , which was the toughest time in her life. She is very grateful for the band.
