NARCISSUS
Narcissus tells the story of a handsome and proud youth, many individuals falling in love with him, causing rejection as Narcissus was only in love with himself.
While wondering through the woods, Narcissus came by a pool of water. When he first captured his reflection he was immediately captivated by his own beauty, gazing for hours on end, admiring and falling deeper and deeper in love with himself.
Growing weaker and weaker by being so infatuated with himself, refusing to leave the pool. Still gazing at his own reflection Narcissus died. The gods felt sorry for the passing of Narcissus and preserved his beauty into, the Narcissus/daffodil flower.
Everyone can enjoy his beauty with the flower symbolising rebirth and new beginnings.
