SOUTHBEND K-8 SCHOOL Port St. Lucie, FL Our approach for the new Southbend K-8 was to minimize negative neighborhoods and environmental impact while preserving the natural quality of the site. The site for the new K-8 is a unique parcel of land with sensitive wetlands and native Florida landscapes. In an effort to reduce the environmental impact, our approach was to minimize the project footprint areas by creating a compact design. The building is a multi-level school, including one, two and three story buildings. This compact vertical approach will minimize site disturbance and impact to the wetlands.
