TINY HOUSE - FOLD-SCAPE SHELTER
Tiny House Competition 4th Edition 2024
In a world where cities are increasingly unsustainable, mobility is dominated by vehicles, and concrete jungles suffocate our landscapes, there emerges a collective yearning for a more meaningful existence—one that is slower in pace and richer in creativity, all while fostering a deeper connection with our environment. As young citizens, we find ourselves grappling with pressing questions about the future, and it is in this context that a visionary project takes shape.
This project represents an innovative response to the challenges we face, offering a sustainable alternative to conventional living arrangements. It is designed to minimize our ecological footprint while providing all the comforts and conveniences we associate with traditional homes. At its core lies a commitment to environmental stewardship, ensuring that our lifestyle choices are in harmony with the planet we inhabit.
At the heart of this project is a tiny house, ingeniously crafted to adapt to our evolving needs and habits. Through ingenious mechanisms such as rails integrated into its platforms and a pulley system within its walls, the house can fold and expand, revealing additional living spaces and inviting terraces. Each aspect of the design is meticulously thought out, placing a premium on flexibility, comfort, and, above all, our profound connection with the natural world that surrounds us.

LANDSCAPE DESIGN - C.C. SANDIEGO
Medellín - Antioquia, Colombia 2022
San Diego is the first shopping center built in the city of Medellin. Due to its 50th anniversary, the management plans to invest in an architectural and landscaping renovation project focusing on the proximity to nature in a commercial environment that generates the arrival of new customers.
As San Diego’s first shopping center built in the city, it presents a challenge to harmonize architectural styles due to the number of inharmonious additions that have been designed and attached to the original building. The exteriors of the mall are closed and dark, making its facades parking lots and not inviting new customers to enter through its urbanism. We are looking for the vegetation to penetrate the building and return to the concept of open courtyards, the concept with which it was initially designed.
The ecological succession consists in planting endemic species in the place, through different living beings such as insects or birds, will allow to fertilize more the gardens and to let their gradual and natural growth, almost without human intervention.

Single Family HOUSE - El Higueron
Rionegro - Antioquia, Colombia 2022
The house El Higueron sits in the middle of the dense forest of the mountains of Rionegro, there, a solid and thick volume in solid brick with a large roof is situated. This house was designed for a landscape architect, where the concept was the patina of the Antioquian constructions of the 80s and the thickness of a tectonic element that belongs to the earth.
Design a house for a couple containing 2 bedrooms, 1 study, living room, dining room and kitchen and a space for a maid. This house was to contain considerable thicknesses, as we wanted architectural solidity to be the main concept of the design. A large roof that can avoid the big storms in this municipality and a greenhouse that can serve as a dining room to enjoy the beautiful view offered by the land. All this together with a landscape design that includes pedestrian access and parking.
A rectangular volume in solid brick, with large windows accompanied by a roof that covers little more than the urbanism. After studying the terrain topographically, the urbanism was understood as a terracing of levels.

COLORFUL BOARDWALK - Puerto Girón
Apartadó - Antioquia, Colombia 2022
This place is close to a very fast-flowing river (Rio Leon), which causes flooding during the winter season affecting the economic and social activity of this community. These floods can last for days, even weeks, causing the inhabitants to live in elevated structures, but trapped by the flooding.
Puerto Giron is a town in the city of Turbo, this place has a very important socio-cultural importance for the sector, because it is one of the few communities that has its own council that manages the resources and projects of the community, as dictated by its culture. This town is very far from any kind of civilization, presenting a very high level of precariousness due to the lack of public investment that exists there. about challenge solution
A hexagonal module was created to allow free connection over a free floor plan. This module has different forms of connection, where it generates spaces of coexistence and strengthens the ancestral activities identified in the community. This boardwalk also has docks and covered areas near the river, allowing this approach to the river continues to exist.

SUSTAINABLE VILLAGES - Urb. Valquiria
El Retiro - Antioquia, Colombia 2021
The Urbanization Valquiria is part of a Master Plan called Montesereno, which seeks to create an urbanization of temporary residences with a vocation directly related to the landscape and the environment it offers. The Flora and Fauna in the place are fundamental elements, because it seeks the least possible land occupation, affecting only the “Scars of the landscape”.
As it is a natural conservation area, the area should be occupied as little as possible, positively impacting the sector that was heavily deforested. The land in the past was used for cattle ranching, presenting a very high erosion and contamination rate of the water sources, but with an enormous landscape potential.
The villages were designed with the concept of sustainable villages, the villages are gathered perimetrically, sharing an axis of mobilization that also functions as an axis of reunion. These villas have houses that are built on a cantilevered second level, allowing the first level to occupy only 50% of the total area of the houses.

COMMON AREAS - Urb. Montesereno
El Retiro - Antioquia, Colombia 2021
Montesereno is both a partial plan and an urbanization of single-family houses. This plot has a community concept, where there are buildings for common areas and meeting places for those who live there. The idea is to create a community immersed in the landscapes of Eastern Antioquia, where the fauna and flora are the main players.
Create an element in unevenness that allows to store cars on the terrace and on the first level to have a cafeteria and a reflection room, additionally a soccer field. The idea was to impact the landscape as little as possible, making it invisible to the pedestrian on the street.
A compact element is designed where all its facades are open to the gardens of the site. This is to strengthen the natural concept of the development itself. In addition, the proposed urbanism and landscaping invites to gather in the open spaces, letting the architecture be a great cover of uses but the social activities happen in the environment.
