The health center situated in the municipality of Liborina in Antioquia, Colombia is a facility specifically dedicated to providing healthcare services to the workers of Empresas Públicas de Medellín that works in different regional projects situated in the town.
Design a compact element of medical attention and control where EPM employees can attend their routine medical appointments and health emergencies, since being located in the municipality of Liborina, they do not have access to an optimal and quality health system due to the remoteness with municipal capitals.
The health center’s architecture is a reflection of its functional purpose and its surrounding environment, provides a sense of spaciousness, brightness, and transparency, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere.. Is equipped with an emergency section and diagnostic offices focused on preventive medicine, allowing for the swift transfer of diagnosed patients to the nearest municipal seat, where specialized care is provided.

El Salto Medical Center in Gomez Plata, Antioquia, addresses the urgent need for rural emergency medical care. Its modular design strategically separates spaces, including a pharmacy and an emergency room. Financed by Empresas Publicas de Medellin, the project extends medical security to an isolated community.

The project addresses the absence of emergency medical care facilities in rural Gomez Plata. Through a modular design, it efficiently organizes essential services, tackling financial and logistical challenges with Empresas Publicas de Medellin’s support.
Beyond immediate care, the El Salto Medical Center prioritizes a healing environment for patient recovery. Located near a hill, the center offers a picturesque landscape, creating a serene atmosphere. The design philosophy recognizes the role of the recovery environment, integrating nature into the medical setting. This holistic approach enhances the overall experience for patients in the rural setting of Gomez Plata.

Single Family HOUSE - El Higueron Rionegro - Antioquia, Colombia 2022
The house El Higueron sits in the middle of the dense forest of the mountains of Rionegro, there, a solid and thick volume in solid brick with a large roof is situated. This house was designed for a landscape architect, where the concept was the patina of the Antioquian constructions of the 80s and the thickness of a tectonic element that belongs to the earth.
Design a house for a couple containing 2 bedrooms, 1 study, living room, dining room and kitchen and a space for a maid. This house was to contain considerable thicknesses, as we wanted architectural solidity to be the main concept of the design. A large roof that can avoid the big storms in this municipality and a greenhouse that can serve as a dining room to enjoy the beautiful view offered by the land. All this together with a landscape design that includes pedestrian access and parking.
A rectangular volume in solid brick, with large windows accompanied by a roof that covers little more than the urbanism. After studying the terrain topographically, the urbanism was understood as a terracing of levels.

SUSTAINABLE VILLAGES - Urb. Valquiria
El Retiro - Antioquia, Colombia 2021
The Urbanization Valquiria is part of a Master Plan called Montesereno, which seeks to create an urbanization of temporary residences with a vocation directly related to the landscape and the environment it offers. The Flora and Fauna in the place are fundamental elements, because it seeks the least possible land occupation, affecting only the “Scars of the landscape”.
As it is a natural conservation area, the area should be occupied as little as possible, positively impacting the sector that was heavily deforested. The land in the past was used for cattle ranching, presenting a very high erosion and contamination rate of the water sources, but with an enormous landscape potential.
The villages were designed with the concept of sustainable villages, the villages are gathered perimetrically, sharing an axis of mobilization that also functions as an axis of reunion. These villas have houses that are built on a cantilevered second level, allowing the first level to occupy only 50% of the total area of the houses.

C.O.M Guayabal functions as the primary power transfer headquarters for Empresas Públicas de Medellín. It plays a crucial role in managing the city’s public lighting and electricity supply to all its buildings. The office houses the main power transformers and, due to the deterioration of its spatial quality over time, employees have expressed dissatisfaction, particularly considering its pivotal function.

The deterioration of C.O.M Guayabal’s spatial quality prompted the need for an architectural renovation. Employees, vital to the facility’s operations, voiced numerous complaints about the working conditions. The challenge was to address these concerns while meeting the new design standards established by the Empresas Publicas de Medellin architecture design office.
An architectural overhaul prioritized internal and external improvements, emphasizing the landscape and original building design. This cost-effective solution aimed to create a healthier, more comfortable workspace at this critical facility.

about
Montesereno is both a partial plan and an urbanization of single-family houses. This plot has a community concept, where there are buildings for common areas and meeting places for those who live there. The idea is to create a community immersed in the landscapes of Eastern Antioquia, where the fauna and flora are the main players.
challenge
Create an element in unevenness that allows to store cars on the terrace and on the first level to have a cafeteria and a reflection room, additionally a soccer field. The idea was to impact the landscape as little as possible, making it invisible to the pedestrian on the street.
solution
A compact element is designed where all its facades are open to the gardens of the site. This is to strengthen the natural concept of the development itself. In addition, the proposed urbanism and landscaping invites to gather in the open spaces, letting the architecture be a great cover of uses but the social activities happen in the environment.
