Submitting Exhibition Proposal UX Redesign The Dairy Barn Arts Center’s mission is to offer exhibitions, events, and educational programs that nurture and promote area artists and artisans, develop art appreciation among all ages, provide the community access to fine arts and crafts from outside the region and draw attention and visitors to Southeast Ohio. In May of 2017, we opened a new exhibition space on the first floor of the Barn. The space will be open for proposal submissions for solo, group, or curatorial projects. Proposals for this space are accepted on a rolling basis. We also accept proposals for touring exhibits on a rolling basis.

Annotations: 1. The top level navigation menu is too complicated, there are many repeated sub options. 2. “Calls for entry” menu located under the exhibitions menu, which I believe it could be called an open opportunity for artist. 3. It would be better if all the artist opportunities menu placed on the top of the page, so it will be more visible.
2
4. I think it would be better if this was a button rather than just a highlighted sentence. 5. This .pdf form should be more interactive and easy to fill in.

remove new section ANNOTATIONS The blue highlighted section should be simplified, and others different sub options should be one simple menu.
The green section should be placed as a new simple navigation at the top of the website. The overall webpage has too much text. I suggest there should be more images/icon/button/bullet points or shorten the description in every section.

It seems that the Dairy Barn Arts Center has many special “Events” that need to be promoted more.
“We face choices all the time on the Web and making the choices mindless is one of the main things that make a site easy to use.”
This section will allow visitors from any different level and background to “Get Involved” to all activities that the Dairy Barn Arts Center offer.
— Steve Krug, Dont Make Me Think Revisited, p. 43
The specific sub menu for “Call for Artist” is a section for all opportunities for artist/curator to submit their work as well as exhibition proposal.
