Week 8

Interrogation of the detailing decisions: This is a section detail of service area, it show the water proofing and thermal insulation in the structure. (detail discretion is in week 9 journal)

Composition: Concrete wall and ceiling of ground level. Brick wall Thermal insulation Timber stud IL: acoustic Sealant and joint filler: helps relieve the stresses caused by thermal expansion and contraction; control the depth of the sealant contact with the joint part Cavity flashing Wall ties PFC (parallel flange channel) Frosted plastic sheet WPS(water proofing sheet)


Week 8 Building process: First the concrete primary structure and the connected wall tied and cavity flashings are built. Then the timber stud wall with insulations of the first level. Hence the water proof sheet can cover all of them. The final part will be the brick walls, PFC and other details like sealant and joint filler. The drip will be formed at last.
