AN EASTER MESSAGE
BY PASTOR GILLIAN DRAKES-PRESCOD
Easter is a very significant celebration in the Christian faith, commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. It is the triumph of life over death, good over evil, and hope over despair Through His death and resurrection, Jesus conquered sin and death, offering eternal life to all who believe in Him
As we celebrate this Easter season, let us reflect on the incredible gift of salvation that Christ has offered each and every one of us. His death on the cross was the ultimate sacrifice, and His resurrection is the ultimate victory over sin and death. Through His grace, we are redeemed, forgiven, and invited into a new relationship with God one that is filled with mercy and eternal hope Let this Easter Season be a reminder of the boundless love that God has for each of us.

The empty tomb is not just a symbol of what happened over 2,000 years ago, but a living reminder that we too have new life in Christ In Him all things are made new Let us walk in that newness Let us bury the old things, the old sins, and embrace all that the resurrection offers to us: joy, hope, peace, healing, transformation and eternal life
As we rejoice in the resurrection, let us also remember the call to live as Christ lived filled with love, compassion, and grace. The Easter message invites us to renew our commitment to walk in His footsteps, sharing His gospel of love and redemption with the world Just as the risen Christ went to His disciples with words of comfort and peace, so are we called to bring that same peace and hope to those in need, both near and far

Receiving Jesus Christ into our hearts is the proper response to His death and Resurrection Will you do so today? Will you give Him a chance to turn your life around and make something beautiful of it?

PRAYING GOD’S WORD BACK TO HIM

BY SISTER JOY ROACH SIMPSON
“For the word of God is living and powerful.”
In the business arena, whenever one seeks to access a loan or some other advertised facility, a caveat is usually attached: ”Certain conditions apply.” Similarly, when one desires to get answers to prayer, certain conditions apply
In the first instance, the Bible warns against praying amiss. James 4:3 states, “Ye ask and receive not because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it on your lusts.” Simply stated, this means praying in the wrong manner, praying selfish prayers that cannot be answered or praying outside of God’s will.
Apart from praying amiss, disobedience to God’s instructions can stand in the way of one’s prayer being answered One’s daily life should demonstrate obedience to God’s holy principles. Our loving heavenly Father seeks to have a covenant relationship with His children – a relationship based on love, trust, intimacy and surrender to His will
His will for our lives is good and it is clearly outlined in His word His will is that: “we all should prosper and be in health as our souls prosper” - 3 John 1:2 In addition, He has asked us to pray that: “His will be done on earth as it is in heaven” - Matt 6:10. Praying God’s will therefore involves praying God’s word back to Him since His will is in His word.
You may be wondering how can this be done. First of all, there is the need to be prayerfully reading and meditating on the word of God daily so that understanding can take place. The scripture verses must be internalized to such an extent that they can be easily recalled. It is worth noting that the Bible contains scripture passages that relate to every possible issue that man may face. Health challenges, financial problems and relationship issues are just a few. Relevant scripture verses should be personalised during prayer, even inserting one’s name or the names of loved ones into the passage.
When this is done in faith, prayer time will become more meaningful and intimate and answers will be forthcoming since God is faithful to His word.

God’s Divine Favour
“May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us yes, establish the work of our hands.” Psalm 90:17 (NIV)
“I have been employed in my current workplace for just over 3.5 years now I started as an OJT, then for the past 1 5 years, I was on 3 consecutive Short-Term (6 month) contracts. During my time as a Short-Term employee, I had no access to any leave or benefits This is the harsh reality many persons employed in the Public Sector face. Thankfully, unlike other persons I know who remained on Short-Term for years upon years, God spared me from that situation
Positions were advertised for my team exactly 1 year ago and I applied, despite not having a degree in the field, hoping that the experience and institutional knowledge I had would be considered enough to get me through the screening process. God has promised His people Divine favour, and so, I was trusting in Him that if it was His will for me to remain at my job, He would work it out.
After a year-long wait, today, I say thanks be to God for His unfailing faithfulness and perfect timing. Not only was I short-listed for the position, despite being up against other persons who had both the required degree and experience, but I aced the interview and received the job! God truly appoints those He has chosen, and His favour rests upon us always.”
