Meet Tatiana Kovylina, the mama-of-three who’s looking to make the world a better place for her kids through her chic line of sustainable activewear… Wo r d s K AT Y G I L L E T T
he kind of woman Silou London is looking to attract with its newly released Spring Summer 2018 line of ethical activewear is “stylish, particular, elegant and conscious… discerning with their choices,” explains founder Tatiana Kovylina. The former high fashion model – whose client list includes the likes of Calvin Klein, Victoria’s Secret and Oscar De La Renta – has just given birth to her third baby, and so she’s basically living in Silou’s navy Nadya leggings, as the high waist uses a special supportive fabric that serves as a bendy corset for her postnatal belly. The reason Tatiana invented the brand in the fi rst place was because of her kids. “I raise three children and care about the world they are going to live in as much as I care about the beliefs they will have,” she tells Absolutely Mama. “There has been harm [done] to the environment, enough depriving women of their rights in underprivileged communities, enough destruction for the sake of successful business… We want to do it differently.” In order to do just that, Tatiana fi rst selected a factory that adopts ethical work April 201 8
