y childhood dream was to be a criminal lawyer. Coming from a family of lawyers and with an uncle featured in the Guinness Book of Records as the world's “most successful lawyer” with 245 successive murder acquittals, I thought it seemed like a very exciting job! After finishing school, I went on to do a degree in Hospitality Management before giving in to my passion for property. Having moved house a number of times during my childhood, I recall the days of house hunting with my parents as well as the exciting build of one of our homes. My dad often tells me that one of my most used phrases as a child, particularly while looking out of the car window was “you could do a lot with that house”! Having grown up in Dublin’s fair city, I made the exciting move to London and am now into my seventh year with Bective in Brook Green. The area reminds me a lot of Ireland, with its strong sense of community and village-like feel. We see a lot of young families drawn to the great schools and safe atmosphere, as well as young professionals attracted to the blend of boutique stores, gastro pubs and great transport links. For more than six years, I have watched the market go from strength to strength with prices growing each year and the price per square foot now exceeding £1,100. I am very confident the Brook Green market will continue to prosper, provided sellers listen to honest and experienced local agents.
grew up in a picture postcard village called Brill on the Oxfordshire/Buckinghamshire border. It comes complete with windmill and is well known for being the hideout of the Great Train Robbers. Growing up in the countryside fed my love for animals, and when I was small I wanted to be a vet, anything that stood still long enough would be bandaged like a mummy in no time! Before I worked in estate agency, I ran a livery yard full of very high maintenance and expensive event horses. After breaking too many bones, and getting fed up with being cold, wet and covered in mud all the time, I decided to move to London and see what opportunities it held. I’d always had an interest in houses, particularly listed and period properties; the history, stories and lives that have been lived in them fascinate me. Knowing this, my brother, who was working in recruitment at the time, sent me for an interview with a lovely independent firm in Fulham. They offered me the job as lettings negotiator and it went from there! I have worked in Brook Green for the past five years and loved seeing it grow and prosper during that time. I love the village feel the most. In Brook Green you can easily forget you are in London. I treasure walking my labrador, Tam, on the Green at lunchtime and meeting lots of familiar faces doing the same thing. It really is a wonderful place to work. The current market is very exciting, we have lots of serious applicants looking to move quickly, the market is fast paced, properties are in demand and prices are on the rise. Now is the time to strike!
