don’t know about you, but as the shadows lengthen and the nights grow colder, there is nothing I would rather be doing than eating. Snug and cosy at home with friends and family or out at a restaurant either for a hearty, restorative brunch or a candlelit dinner. And the best part? This season’s chunky knit jumpers can cover all manner of sins. In keeping with this all this winter indulgence, our November issue is crammed with reviews, recipes and round-ups to inspire and enthuse. If you’re a dab hand in the kitchen, the recipes on page 62 from Winter Cabin Cooking by Lizzie Kamenetzky will have you hightailing it to Waitrose for ingredients – the butter tarts look devilishly good. Prefer eating out? We’ve got you covered. Our local café round up on page 58 provides a consensus on the best places to go for brunch in South West London and, without giving too much away, one of them serves a sausage filled with melted cheese.

Seriously. If you’re more of a night owl, why not turn to page 57 to read our review of Wimbledon Village newcomer, The White Onion? It does not disappoint. For those, (like me) already counting down to Christmas, our pick of 2015’s most extravagant Advent Calendars on page 67 will test your willpower. Remember, only one window a day... All this edible goodness is surrounded by our usual exceptional fashion, beauty, education and interiors pages as well as an interview on page 16 with artist Benjamin Hope, whose passion for painting Lavender Hill has landed him an exhibition. In addition, we have a wonderful countryside property round-up that begins on page 165 for anyone looking to up sticks for a rural stunning pile. Enjoy the issue and please dig in! u
