West Michigan Chapter

Thank you for your interest in the YPO West Michigan Chapter.

To begin the application process, please complete the following steps:

2. Complete the attached Applicant Questionnaire.

Once these items are received and reviewed, a member of the chapter will be in contact regarding the remaining requirements of the membership process. This process can take up to 4 weeks as not only are you being reviewed as a peer to the chapter members, simultaneously as an applicant to the YPO Global organization. The YPO Member Management team will be verifying the qualifications and provide the chapter leaders with the status or concerns. During this time you are able to attend the chapter events, get to know your peers, discuss forum placement and have guest access to the WM chapter site and directory. West Michigan ChapterMEMBERSHIP STEPS

The Membership Officer will review your application at each stage of the membership process. Only after approval will you move forward to the next stage of membership.

STEP 1: Initial Contact

An applicant is referred to the chapter by a current member or applies via the YPO West Michigan Chapter portal.

STEP 2: Application Completed

Prospective member completes online application specific for the West MI Chapter:

Paperwork Verification

All paperwork is reviewed and 3rd party verification is collected and validated.

STEP 3: Member Interview Membership

Officer or designated Membership representative reaches out to applicant via Zoom or in-person to discuss YPO membership and get to know applicant. These are informal sessions and count as one event according to the two event requirement.

STEP 7: Approval

from Chapter Chair & Membership Officer

Chapter Chair and Membership Officer reviews all documentation and notes from interviews and determines if prospect is a good fit for the chapter. Invitation to join is offered.

STEP 8: Invoice & Payment

STEP 4: Paperwork Collection

Applicant is sent chapter specific paperwork. All paperwork (chapter questionnaire, org chart, bio or cv) must be completed and returned to Chapter Director before moving on to the next stage. Chapter information and events are sent to applicant for reference you are able to attend events at the chapter level only noted as member only.

STEP 5: Chapter Peer Assessment

This is the chapter’s opportunity to assess the applicant’s fit for the chapter. This step is where the chapter can invite a candidate to an event or a short interview/meeting with a group of members to confirm/audit integrity, character, and trust of the applicant. Within this step member applicant references should be checked. This could take up to 4 weeks.

YPO send invoice to prospect, membership is completed upon payment of YPO Global and YPO West Michigan dues.

STEP 9: Integration

Welcome to YPO—Once chapter and global dues are paid Member Engagement officer encourage new member to attend chapter events and you will be placed in a forum with the first 90 days of membership.

2. Using the below requirements, detail out data that qualifies you as YPO member. You will also be required to submit a third party certification to confirm the information is accurate. The company profile is an important part of the application. Even you don't meet all of the requirements. Please be accurate so we can provide a comprehensive peer review.

Payroll: 50 full-time employees OR >$2M compensation excluding candidate and 15 employees.

Chapter: $4,900* annual dues, $2,000 initiation

Should a member elect to participate in Forum, the individual Forum may require additional dues.
