Editor's note Hello, my SAFE readers, It's different how you say "It is well, go tla siama" when corona illness is in your neighbor’s house than when it is in your yard. I am saying this because my ‘” it is well was not coming out as easy and soft like how It has been when I was encouraging people affected by covid because it has entered my house. My "it is well" was now accompanied by thoughts of what if this happens, which I am not ready for. Nobody is ready to lose relatives, no matter the bad blood between each other, especially to this pandemic of Coronavirus. We have lost and still losing so many people. We have not adjusted to the new ways of relating to not touching (hugging and high five when laughing). We are struggling to distance because it’s no in our nature to be apart. We love people and want to hug them. We love being with people. Let's not lose hope and trust in God because all this is not new to Him. He knew beforehand what is currently happening. Can we trust Him even though we don't understand or see where we are going? Take time on our CSR from page 25, and help where you can, no amount is too small. Share with other people that can be of assistance if you cannot help Mothusi. Enjoy this month's issue, which was so hard to compile as I was dealing with losing a colleague and looking after a close relative because of this covid.

I love you so much but God loves you more

REAL TALK If there is one thing that comes naturally and easy is complaining when you are hurting. When you are going through a heart break because of failed relationships or losing someone close to you or being cheated in a business transaction, you feel like this is the end of the world and nothing good can come out of this. One will get to feel like God has turn His back against you because what you are going through. The funny thing about a heart break is it comes as a shock, it does not show signs or you choose to turn a blind eye to the signs. All of us have experienced heart break one way of the other, others early in their lives when some people experience it later. The pain is still the same, what is different is the stages of life you are experiencing the heart break.

WRITTEN BY YOURS TRULY

We need to know and understand the below about painful situations;

SOMETIMES HEARTBREAK IS THE GREATEST INSPIRATION It's part of the process You can never be ready for a heart break. We should normalize knowing that going through the valley of shadow of death is still the same plan that God has for you in Jeremiah 29:11 of not harming you but to prosper you. Try to make peace with your loss so that you don't stay long it the heartbreak which can cause depression and anxiety. Accepting that you are

hurting, admitting that you have lost something/someone, and crying it out might help. We waste time being angry and planning to retaliate against people that have caused us pain. The energy and time you are using to devise a plan to inflict( if not more pain) pain to whoever or whatever caused you pain could be used at reading about anger and pain in the bible to better equip yourself with the process you are going through. Closer to God It's natural to try things on your own before letting go and trusting God. Giving God way happened when you get to a place when you don't know what to do anymore but to turn to God. The best time of my Christian journey and growth happened and still happens when I am pressed but not crushed. Heart breaks brings us closer to God as options runout.

It doesn't last forever We should know that whatever we are going through, whatever we are going through will not last forever. There is an expiry date on your problems so instead of mopping around confessing that you are a victim and have been done wrong. Know and prepare for life after the heartbreak because there's one on the other side and it looks amazing. See yourself past the pain. Growth

It's part of the process

Pain has a way of maturing your view of certain things. Heartbreaks tricker that growth in the mind, body and spirit. If you have been divorced or break up of a relationship, there is that 6th sense that you have when in people that are lying to you regarding relationships like if some want to take you for a ride. It's like you have the 6th sense is alert. When you have lost someone, you start to treasure people more and make time for them. Youthful4God | Issue 18| Pg 6

WHAT TO DO Get yourself up by waking up and get dressed in honour. This could be looking good and not showing the world that your sad face because everybody is facing some private battles of their own. I am not saying be in denial of your heart break. Spend time with God and enquire from Him what His plan is in all of this? I believe that you are not going through the heartbreak for fun but to learn something out of it and God knows what. You can find purpose in your pain because I can testify that this publication was started after a heartbreak. I had to go through a divorce for me to realize my purpose. I have been leaving comfortable with school issues but crying to God to use me (dangerous prayer). He used me even though it was painful. I got to hear the voice of God for the first time clearly when I was hurting and understand what the verse Hebrews 13:5 of I will never leave you no forsake you really means and see it in action. Trust God because you have nothing to lose but everything to gain.

Who is God in the life of a Christian?

In 1st John 4:7-9 we learn the nature of God as “Love” and because He is love, we are compelled to express love to everybody in order for us to be worthy to be called Children of God. Further, the bible tells us that love is the greatest rule of them all, that, if we do not have love then all that we do is in vain. However, this is not the only nature of God that we learn about, in fact, today we can learn of three more ways to describe God’s identity. ·The second form is that God is “Spirit”, John 4:24 reads thus; “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and truth”. ·While 1st John 1:5 professes that God is “Light” and that in Him there is no darkness. ·Lastly, Hebrews 12:29 describes God as “Consuming Fire”. In order for us to understand God in our lives, we need to be able to relate to Him in all these different personalities. In our everyday lives as Christians, we must be able to know God who is in love as well as be able to emulate His love. It is only when we are able to love like He does that we will make the world a better place, that we will be able to understand each other and care for each other despite all the challenges and circumstances we face on a daily basis. We must be able to connect with Him spiritually, be able to know when He converses with us, when he instructs us to do something as well as recognize when He requires that we keep quiet, to sit still and listen to His still soft voice. Sometimes in order to give a fitting response to situations surrounding us, there is need to sit back and observe then allow Him to give proper direction. On our own we are not able to understand a lot of things that happen around us, it is only when we allow Him to intervene that we are able to figure out a way forward.

We should be able to see God as the light shining in our lives, illuminating the way for us to see clearly. Not just the way, but when God is the light of our lives, we will be able to see the terrible things to avoid and hidden unpleasantries planned by the devil and his agents for our harm and or downfall, we should be able to avoid all the dangerous

Youthful4God | Issue 18| Pg 9

weapons placed in our paths because His light shines brighter always. When we truly understand all these three, we must then be able to engage God the consuming fire to fight our every battle so that all weapons that are fashioned against us can never prosper in harming us. As we continue to fight the invisible enemy (Corona Virus) amongst us, do we know who God is in our lives, what He is capable of and how He can protect us from the imminent danger? How much do we trust in Him and are we able to continue believing that He is in charge of our lives? This is the time for us Christians to stand up and claim what God has freely given to us, which is life in its fullness, it is time to fight the devil with God who is the consuming fire. It is time for us to engage with Him and seek His guidance, wisdom and power in this fight. The word of God tells us to seek Him while we still can, this is the time. We are now seeing our loved ones being attacked by this virus on a daily basis, even ourselves we are fearful of what lies ahead of us as the numbers of those infected and affected continue to rise, as the virus continues to mutate and multiply. We wonder how we will survive as we hear of the fourth wave. There is only one answer, one doctor and one hope, that is our God who loves us dearly, who loved us even when we did not deserve to be loved by giving us His only begotten Son to die for us on the cross. This is the time to invoke God the spirit who lives in us to unleash the consuming fire to come and destroy this virus. For the spirit to release knowledge and understanding to the doctors and scientists to study this virus well enough to develop effective medication and for the spirit to inspire us in our everyday attempts as we continue in the fight against this virus. May the God who is our light shine through all our adversities so that we may truly understand who we are, what we stand for and protect ourselves with the full armor of God.

then too. Which means it has become a curse in the family. Recognize that any sin you cannot do away with easily, has mastered you and any form of addiction has a demon behind it. Therefore, if you are struggling with any sin, the first thing to do is to look for a deliverance minister for counseling and prayer. If you cannot find anyone to help you engage in fasting and prayers from time to time using Isaiah 10:27 which says; And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing, to break the yoke of sin from your life or any scripture which suit what you are going through for fasting and prayers. As a Christian your first helper in overcoming sin in any situation is the Holy Spirit. So, we must engage the helper Holy Spirit more and more to help overcome sin.

Romans 8:10-13 says; But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you. Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. Galatians 5:16 says; This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. As you go about this year with your daily activities, be that person who will not go back to eat his or her vomit after you have vomited them. But be the one who goes to God or people and say sorry for their actions and ask for forgiveness and not repeat them again. Shalom!

We are living in a society that has a clash of ideologies about boys and girls' empowerment. We assume that Boys from a young age know everything to become an ideal responsible Man. We encourage boys to show strength by suppressing emotions, we are creating an emotional wound with lasting effects on their mental health and relationships. We neglect the boy child and this develops roots of unresolved childhood trauma which affects adulthood. We focus on empowering the girl child, mentoring them to be good future wives while allowing boys to grow up anyhow. This creates an imbalance of values and principles between both genders. Let us stop marginalizing young boys. May we empower both boys and girls. For us to have a functional society, we should have a functional man and a functional woman.

The Boy Girl Child Movement at the moment, The Boy Girl child movement is a discussion Page to engage on issues centered around child development, Gender inclusiveness and how Childhood affects adulthood, Gender roles, childhood moral development, gender identity and sexuality, Parenting, childhood emotional and social development. The imbalance of how we raise boys and girls and the challenges it has brought in society today. what prompted me to start is the high rate of gender-based violence cases in our country. I realized that most of the issues centered around gender-based violence can be associated with a broken childhood, dysfunctional families or childhood trauma & abuse. Anything and everything inspires conversations and writing. The Boy Girl Child Movement is a platform that was birthed from the gap in principles between males and females and the way we relate with each other. Parenting plays a significant role in the development of a child and their adulthood. As Parents / Caregivers, we need to model good behaviors and create habitable environments where our children can learn, as the young boy and young girl will exhibit behaviors by their parents and pass it on to the next generations. If we raise children in dysfunctional families that is what they will embrace and portray in their adulthood. Youthful4God | Issue 18| Pg 15

WHY YOU NEED TO START CROSS TRAINING NOW BY

Onneile Kealotswe Fitness Instructor (New Skills Academy)

Strong Nation Instructor (formerly Strong by Zumba)

I recently completed a 90km comrades marathon in good time and with zero injuries. My triumph was quickly followed by multiple questions regarding my training considering I did not run as often as other participants did. The answer was very simple, I was able to run the long-distance comfortably because my training routine incorporates different types of exercises that target specific muscle groups which aid in various movements making me a well-rounded athlete able to tackle various challenges. This is known as cross-training. Crosstraining is a workout regimen that incorporates different exercises to work on more muscle groups to achieve muscle strength and improved the cardiovascular respiratory system. This improves agility, endurance, and overall muscle performance. This holistic approach to fitness helps in the development of a physique that is able to thrive under any fitness challenge. For example, your performance in a football game becomes the results of your cross-training routine making the game the assessment as opposed to the game being both the exercise regimen and the assessment, that would be a situation of judge and jury. A further example is that you cannot run as a training regimen and further run as an assessment. Your performance during a race is an assessment of the effectiveness of your training. Here is an example of cross-training regimen and its benefits: Squats (strength), jumping jack (Cardio), jump squats (explosive strength), deadlift (strength), and walking lunge (endurance). *Please note that any of these movements can be manipulated to be either strength, explosive strength, endurance, or cardio depending on the execution. The importance of cross-training cannot be overemphasized. It is applied to all sporting codes. Therefore, if you want to improve your performance in a certain sport, whether it's a competitive sport or recreational, you must develop a training program that incorporates other exercises.

ENOUGH IRON FOR YOUR PREGNANCY?

Youthful4God | Issue 18| Pg 18

Planning for pregnancy is exhilarating, but the details can really stress you out. Ensuring you have the right amount of iron is one detail you shouldn’t forget….

WHY YOU NEED IRON? Your body needs iron to make haemoglobin, the chemical that carried oxygen in blood cells. During pregnancy, you need double the normal amount of iron to cope with the extra demands of a growing baby. HAT HAPPENED WHEN YOU HAVE LITTLE IRON? It can be difficult to consume enough iron from the food for both yourself and your baby. Some tell-tale signs of iron deficiency include pale skin under the eyes and nails, brittle hair and cracked skin around the mouth. You may feel less able to exercise, breathless with heart palpitations, a rapid pulse and experience concentration problems. Severe iron deficiency cause anaemia and total exhaustion. Anaemia can also weaken your immune system making it harder to fight off infections. HOW TO KEEP YOUR IRON LEVELS HEALTHY? Most of the iron you need during pregnancy comes from a heathy balanced diet. Lean meat, fruits like apricots, raisins and prunes and leafy green vegetables all contain the mineral in abundance. But if you have a deficiency, you need to eat a lot of iron rich foods o correct it. Many women find that they can’t eat enough to raise and maintain healthy iron levels through a balance diet alone. This is the time when a high quality liquid supplement like Floradix can help. Floradix contains iron gluconate which is easily absorbed by the body, together with vitamin C, fruit juice concentrates and herbal extracts to enhance iron absorption further still. This special blend of ingredients also helps Floradix avoid unpleasant side effects, such as the constipation and stomach cramps frequently associated with other iron preparations, so its no wonder so many midwives and other health professionals recommend it. What’s more Floradix contains absolutely no chemical preservatives, colourings or flavourings and is also available in a gluten free version called Floravital HOW TO HELP YOUR BODY ABSORB ENOUGH IRON? Vitamin C, amino acids, fructose and glucose will all help your body to absorb more iron from foods and supplements calcium, milk proteins, black tea, coffee, fibre, vitamin E and phosphates (found in soft drinks) can all decrease the absorption rate, so it’s a good idea to take iron supplement before eating to maximise the amount of iron you receive with each and every mouthful. ASK TEACHER AKHU

HOW TO CHOOSE A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT TO PLAY Many people would like to learn to play a musical instrument, but usually would not know where to start. Well, before one can learn a new musical instrument, they must, know how to pick the instrument. The good news is that in a lot of ways, it's simpler to pick an instrument as an adult -- you know your tastes by now, and you have access to a much wider range of instruments, teachers, and options. It's not very easy for the young ones. This article will therefore address adults. Here are some questions to ask yourself before picking an instrument What kind of music do you like? This seems like an obvious point but thinks it through: if you really prefer listening to Jaa for example, a saxophone might not be the best instrument for you to learn. A musical instrument is a big investment of time and money, so make sure the style of music that you'd be playing fits the bill. Some instruments are more versatile than others -- once you get the basics of one, then you can play many more in that family of instruments. In what sort of situations do you see yourself playing? Does playing in a jam session good enough for you? Perhaps the guitar would be a good choice. If you're less social, the piano always sounds good solo and makes a gorgeous piece of furniture even when it's not being played. What are the limitations of your budget? Most instruments can be purchased in various price ranges, but some are more drastically cheap or expensive than others. It is important to choose an instrument that is within your budget. It is not always to buy a very expensive instrument only not to be able to play it and then having to sell it. What sort of practice space do you have? Living in a shared space is also a factor to consider when choosing an instrument to learn. Brass instruments will not be a good idea if your share your space. If you live on a farm in the middle of nowhere, you can pick any instrument of choice as practicing would not be a nuisance to anyone. How easy will it be to find a teacher? You shouldn't have too hard of a time finding a guitar or drums instructor within a few kilometers of any small town or village anywhere you live. If you want to play the harp, your options will be slightly more limited. That doesn't mean it's impossible to learn a rare instrument, just be ready to look harder and spend more to find a teacher, and bear in mind that you may have to travel quite some distance for one-onone lessons. Some instrument teachers will teach remotely, via Skype or another application, but that lesson style may or may not work for you.

Youthful4God | Issue 18| Pg 22

What kind of time do you want to put into the instrument? All instruments will require an enormous time investment if you want to become an excellent player, but for less time, you can become a pretty good or adequate player, depending on what you're looking for. Unless you're ready to invest serious hours, don't fuss with something like the kora. perhaps choosing something like simple rhythm guitar is best for you. If you really want to make music but have very little time to invest in practicing, a simple rhythm instrument, like djembe, is a great choice. What are your physical limitations? If you can't hoist something heavy, don't try to play upright bass. If you don't have the great lung capacity, think twice about the saxophone. Short arms? trombone may not be so easy. Certainly, if you've got the will to play something that will be physically difficult for you, you can surpass just about anything, but be ready for a bit of adversity. Do you want to play and sing at the same time? If you really want to accompany yourself singing, especially if you want to do it solo, you might consider going with one of the two classics: piano or guitar. Sure, plenty of great musicians have accompanied themselves on other instruments, but piano and guitar can both provide fullness and range of sound that, solo, accompany a human voice well. It's no accident that they're the most popular accompanying instruments for singers. Do you want to learn to read music? If you want to play Western classical music, you'll need to learn to read music, specifically on whichever clef accompanies your instrument. Jazz players generally need to learn to read music, as well, though it can look a bit different than classical sheet music, and some international music traditions have various styles of written music and charts as well. If you're looking to avoid reading music and play simply by ear, most genres of folk music around the world don't require any written notation. Do you want to be the leader of the band? If you're looking to play small-ensemble music, be it classic rock or reggae or any number of other genres, where do you envision yourself fitting in? If you want to be out front, pick the instrument that takes the most solos and plays the melody within your chosen genre. If you'd rather be an unsung hero, go for something in the rhythm section. Are there folks around to play with? Certain types of music (and the instruments that they're played on) really are best suited to social players, and you'll have a hard time keeping it up if you never have a chance to pick a tune with others. Traditional music and old-time music, for example, are really best-enjoyed session-style, so unless you want to be doomed to a life of solo banjo pickin', consider whether or not you've got some people around to practice with, or if you're willing to seek them out during travels. Choose your instrument carefully. If you don't really love it, you'll never stick with it. Don't compromise if you don't have to. It’ll be a while before you're any good. Have reasonable expectations for yourself and remember that the learning curve for different instruments is shaped differently. Reaching the point at which you can strum a simple set of chords on a guitar will take less time than playing a simple melody on the violin. Don't let it discourage you if it takes a while, no matter what instrument you're on. What You Need Ultimately, an instrument and accessories A teacher or an excellent plan for self-teaching A lot of confidence and a sense of humor at the ready Youthful4God | Issue 18| Pg 23

Books Review

"So this book is your chance to strike back. With prayer. With a weapon that really works. Each chapter will guide you in crafting prayer strategies that hit the enemy where it hurts, letting him know you’re on to him and that you won’t back down. Because with every new strategy you build, you’re turning the fiercest battles of life into precise strikes against him and his handiwork, each one infused with the power of God’s Spirit. New York Times bestselling author Priscilla Shirer, widely known for her international speaking, teaching, and writing ministries, brings her new role from the 2015 film War Room into the real lives of today’s women, addressing the topics that affect them most: renewing their passion, refocusing their identity, negotiating family strife, dealing with relentless regrets, navigating impossible schedules, succeeding against temptation, weathering their worst fears, uprooting bitterness, and more. Each chapter exposes the enemy’s cruel, crafty intentions in all kinds of these areas, then equips and encourages you to write out your own personalized prayer strategies on tear-out sheets you can post and pray over yourself and your loved ones on a regular basis.

Old Testament heroes are best known for their most celebrated moments: Moses dividing the Red Sea; David slaying Goliath; Gideon routing an insurmountable army; Joshua marching around the defiant walls of Jericho. And Elijah--calling down fire on Mount Carmel. Blinded by the remarkable narratives of our biblical heroes, we can forget they each had a backstory--months and years of development, even difficulty, which fortified their spiritual muscle and prepared them for the tasks that made their lives unforgettable. Every serious believer longs to summon up the kind of boldness and faith that can stand firm on Mount Carmel and pray down heaven into impossible situations. Yet few are willing to go through the process required to get them there. Strength of faith, character, and boldness can only be shaped in the hidden fires of silence, sameness, solitude, and adversity. Those who patiently wait on God in the darkness emerge with their holy loyalty cemented, their courage emblazoned, and their confident belief in Him set afire. Please Help Mothusi Get His Masters In Fashion My name is Mothusi Lesolle. I am a self-taught fashion designer. I come from Africa, Botswana. I have recently been accepted to study for a Master of Arts in Contemporary Fashion Design at IFA in Paris, France. I write this to you from my heart to ask you to turn my dreams into reality by supporting me financially as I pursue my studies. In 2001 I pursued a Degree in Political Science which was never aligned with my dreams and aspirations. I chose this course because it only made sense in my culture that a grade “A” student of my caliber should pursue a technical course that was considered for the intelligence in my community. However, three years after graduating I could no longer hold back my calling in fashion. Despite the challenges that I faced while I was chasing my dream I launched my own fashion label and I was able to work with international organizations such as Commonwealth, United Nations, De Beers & many more. My aspirations for the industry grew as my career took off and I was honored to represent myself and those that believed in my brand in some of the following ways; . Created an eco-friendly gown that was displayed at the Buckingham Palace, United Kingdom which was later auctioned for a charitable benefit. . Displayed a traditional gown called Motlalepule at Macy’s Store, Metro center, USA for a month in celebration of World fashion. . Showcased in a few African countries and outside the continent. Some of my community work is as follows; . Raising funds for girls who can not afford sanitary pads in Botswana and address other girl child issues that affect them. . Mentoring upcoming designers in my Community including older women in villages of my country to help shape their careers. . Helped a few girls from a refugee camp in Botswana to have a sense of belonging by donating a few prom dresses to them. My dream is to contribute to many developing countries in Africa by helping them develop ethical and sustainable fashion practices and I believe my chance to finally get formal training with one of the leading Fashion institutions in the world will enhance my technical skills in fashion and help me develop a career in the international market.
