A new tradition of giving
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office began a tradition of its own this holiday season. After moving into its new facility, the agency offered its lobby as a toy collection site for Guardian ad Litem. Deputies delivered 758 gifts including $1,040 in gift cards Dec. 18.

It’s all about time
Season’s giving Sarasota County Fire Department warmed the hearts of 31 area foster children on Dec. 15. Santa himself stopped by Fire Station No. 1 to present the children with their gifts before touring the station. The holiday tradition began in 2001 when the Helping Hands program was established in 2001 and has provided more than 200 children with holiday gifts.
