A joyful duty
Sarasota Police Department’s drive for Toys for Tots, which is a program of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, has helped support the department’s community outreach during the holiday season. That continued on Jan. 2 with an early celebration of Three Kings Day (Jan. 6) during which officers distributed toys to children and families in need at Orange Avenue. The event emphasized connection with the community, positive youth engagement and the department’s commitment to building trust with families. The event followed toy distributions in December at the Robert L. Taylor Community Complex.
