HEALTHY COMMUNITY

Dear YMCA of the East Bay Community,

The past fiscal year has been challenging for many people, especially families from marginalized communities. In many ways, 2021 and 2022 felt like a transition year (with still uncertainty) where many working adults returned to in-person work or adjusted their work schedules to hybrid (remote/in-person); students back to school for in-person instruction; events are back to inperson with optional masking; and at the YMCA of the East Bay, Y-members slowly returning to the gym as well as program offerings. Throughout all, the community has stepped forward to help one another. I extend my gratitude to our generous donors, including our Y-members, who came forward during the height of the pandemic to volunteer their time and make philanthropic gifts to support our programs and services.

Our philanthropic supporters contributed nearly $2.15M from more than 1,924 gifts from July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022. We hope you are as proud as we are of what we’ve accomplished in the last fiscal year. Because of you, we awarded Day and Overnight Camperships (scholarships) to students; continued to operate our programs and services to children, families, and teens at no cost or subsidized cost; and upgraded facilities at Camp Loma Mar and Early Learning Centers throughout the East Bay. Thank you to the thousands of donors for your support and for partnering with us to fulfill our mission to Empower Youth, Advance Health, and Strengthen Communities.

Forever grateful,

Manny Nungaray Chief Development Officer
