All activities are developmentally appropriate, have progressive challenge, and help build physical literacy. Our camps help kids belong, grow, thrive and lead!

HOW DO KIDS PROGRESS THROUGH OUR CAMP LEVELS? Our camps are different at each developmental stage. Keeping with our mission to promote the spiritual, mental, physical and social development of individuals and foster a sense of responsibility in the community, the following concepts are introduced through fun and engaging games and play. Your camper will have so much fun they won’t even notice they’re learning at the same time!

CAMPSUMMER CHIEF HECTOR CAMPS ABOUT CAMP CHIEF HECTOR CAMPS Camp Chief Hector provides a rich ecosystem for children and youth to learn and grow through nature. Our overnight and day camps promote independence and community through challenge and fun. An experience not be missed!

THERE ARE TWO CAMP LOCATIONS! CAMP CHIEF HECTOR SITE

GRAY JAY SITE

The Camp Chief Hector site is located just an hour outside of Calgary in Bow Valley Wildlands Provincial Park. This camp is full of adventure.

Our Gray Jay site is located 2.5 hours north west of Calgary, on the eastern edge of Banff National Park. This area, along the Red Deer River in the Yaha Tinda valley, is well known for its spectacular views, history, and hiking and horseback riding trails.

Your camper will participate in many activities including: canoeing, swimming, archery, rock climbing, rope course challenges, hiking, interactive games, arts, horseback riding and more. All campers spend at least one night on a backcountry tenting adventure. Activities and length of camp are dependent on the group and chosen option.

More rustic and with less campers, our Gray Jay site offers campers an experience rich in nature exploration and the opportunity to build strong connections with other campers. Campers participate in day and overnight hikes, group games, learning about outdoor living, caring for horses and horseback riding.
