自由,是 每 天 看 到 海 洋 邊 際的日出 是每晚數 著 滿 天 繁 星 入 睡 小時候我們總是喜歡仰望天上的白雲,天馬行空的幻想出各式各樣的動物在天空飛翔。 不知由什麼時候開始,我們習慣了大都市的忙碌,日復日過著公式化的生活,漸漸地失 去兒時的創造力和想像力,更加忽略身邊美好的人和事,試問我們有多久沒有抬頭仰望 天空,欣賞天空微妙的變化? 在構思《動物嘉年華》音樂會的過程中,我們期望能在傳統音樂會的演奏模式上尋求突 破,除了加入更多不同的音樂元素外,我們將音樂融入戲劇,為聖桑的《動物嘉年華》 注入全新的故事、為每個樂章的角色注入新的生命。在雄仔叔叔及導演王敏豪先生的帶 領下,在排練的短短幾個月間,我們學會了放下自己,放低自我──音樂從來不只是 聽,不只是用心感受,更可能幫助你我編寫自己的故事,塑造與眾不同的自己。 是次音樂會在有限資源和人手下得以成功舉行,有賴各贊助人、合作伙伴的鼎力支持。 衷心感謝雄仔叔叔、導演王敏豪先生、燈光設計師顏凱翔先生、舞台監督鄧藹玲小姐、 多年來 La Sax 一眾兄弟姊妹無私的奉獻,台前幕後所有工作人員,以及各曾經協助本團 的機構與團體,讓我們繼續將色士風的魅力宣揚開去,並用音樂啟發更多人的心靈。 動物們正向著更廣闊的天空出發,去尋找它們一直嚮往的自由⋯⋯ 歡迎您和我們一同踏上旅程。

導 演的話 DIRECTOR’S NOTES 關於色士風。是一種令人著迷的樂器。除了是結構精良,外表美觀,更是擁有接近人類的聲音元素, 多變的情感演繹都接近著人類靈魂之深處。無論在古典、流行及爵士音樂都受到廣泛採用。 關於動物。人類自視為萬物之靈,像是地球上的唯一主人,彷彿所有動物都要看著人類的生存而決定 命運。然而,動物有自主的權利嗎?我們只求無限發展的同時,可以跟動物做朋友,為他們著想嗎? 關於這個演出。這是一個有趣的表演形式,結合了演奏,扮演及說故事。在現今新媒體的發展下,智 能手機、平板電腦及電視機盒讓人們足不出戶便可以得到資訊又享受娛樂。親身進入劇場或演奏廳的 體驗非新媒體的虛擬性所能媲美,希望透過今次特別的機會讓聽眾得到新體驗。特別感謝李俊亮先 生、雄仔叔叔、燈光設計師顏凱翔先生及 La Sax 的邀請。

王 敏 豪 WONG MAN HO, FREDDY 香港演藝學院戲劇學院導演系學士及香港嶺南大學文化研究系碩士。王氏為 資深劇場導演、演員、編劇、戲劇指導及色士風狂迷⋯⋯尤愛收藏古董色士 風及不同吹咀。 編劇、導演及改編作品包括:浪人劇場《殞石旁的天際》、《台北藝穗節 2015:像我這樣的一個女子》、《海洋傳說:Lala與廢物城堡》[聯合導 演]、香港音樂劇藝術學院《見習魔女花咩啦》[翻譯及導演]、《反斗道具奇 兵1&2》、《淘寶俏冤家》、《愛麗絲通識事件簿》、《再見灰姑娘》、 《童夏夜之夢》、奇想偶戲《快樂玩具店》[聯合導演]、7A班戲劇組《想 死》[導演]、《天奴的美『荔』樂園》、《都市狂徒》、《像我這樣的一個 城市:地道孤客》、大細路劇團《菜園歷險記》(編劇)、《公主國大歷 險》、《大細路奇趣博物之旅》、《鴉鴉show》、《砵砵車的一生》、《快 樂的稻草人》、《爸媽我真的愛你》、《你是我最好的朋友》、《怪獸家 庭》、《砵砵車的奇幻旅程》、《安全地帶》、《贏在起跑線》。並曾任7A班戲劇組駐團導演、浪人劇場創作監督 及大細路劇團駐團導演及編劇,現為自由身劇場工作者,香港藝術發展局審批員及香港戲劇協會舞台劇獎評審。 Freddy graduated from the School of Drama, The Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) Degree, majoring in Directing. He was awarded the Outstanding Director for his graduation play All god's chillun got wings. Also graduated in Lingnan University, with a Master of Cultural Studies. He is also a vintage saxophone enthusiast and collector. Upon graduation, Freddy continued to play as a director and an actor, and has worked with different theatre societies in Hong Kong. His major directing credits include The Edges (2012), Searching For Da Vinci (2012),The Tale of H15 (2011), We Understood (2008), That Summer (2007), Moominvalley – The Dream Stealers (2005), Wild at Soul (2004), Death (2002) and Death (2003 Touring Version performed in Korea for Asian Drama Festival). 4

雄 仔叔叔 UNCLE HUNG

阮志雄,講古佬,也寫詩,江湖上人稱雄仔叔叔。曾當中學教師、幼兒教育 工作員、劇團教育主任,最後成為講古佬。他於1994年創辦「慢慢走故事 坊」,發現命該如此,成為全職工匠,製作想像的真實。他亦是成立於2012 年的「四圍講古」成員,毎月辦講古聚會,建立公眾講古平台。他曾出版繪 本、故事、詩、劇本和散文。 Yuen Che Hung is a storyteller and poet, and is known in the tough rough world as Uncle Hung Jai. He was a middle school teacher, a researcher in early childhood education and the education officer for Chung Ying Theatre Company before finally becoming a storyteller. He founded Nohurry Story Workshop in 1994 and since then discovered himself destined to be a craftsman of imagined reality. He is also a founding member of “Tales We Tell,” an organisation running regular gatherings to facilitate community storytelling. He has published stories, picture books, poetry, scripts and prose.

曾 捷 麗 CHERRY TSANG

曾捷麗博士活躍於鋼琴獨奏及室樂演奏。繼美國 Wooster室樂節以及紐約卡內基音樂廳的演出外,她亦獲 邀於歐洲、亞洲及美洲舉行多場演奏會。2015年應康樂 及文化事務署邀請,於香港大會堂演奏廳舉行鋼琴獨奏 會。曾氏曾多次與樂團演奏鋼琴協奏曲,合作過的指揮 家有法朗、辜柏麟、Campastrini 等。 曾博士熱愛室內樂演奏及二重奏,常與著名音樂家合作, 包括James Thompson、Giuliano Sommerhalder、Florent Heau、Piotr Milewski 等。曾氏更與 James Thompson 為 國際小號協會錄制巴哈詠嘆調三重奏。此外,作為 Eastman Broadband Ensemble(美國一新音樂室樂團) 成員之一,她參與了由 Urtext Record Label 所出的唱片 《Diaries: Works for Large Ensemble》。 曾博士獲得美國伊士曼音樂學院之博士學位。並於 2008-11在羅切斯特大學及伊士曼音樂學院當Barry Snyder教授的鋼琴助教。回港後,除了專注演奏,也熱 心教學。於浸會大學鋼琴系任教,並於香港演藝學院任 教鋼琴室內樂及重奏演奏藝術。 Pianist Cherry Tsang has performed solo recitals and chamber music throughout Europe, Asia, and America, where she made her Carnegie Hall debut in 2009. Recent solo performance includes LCSD's "Our Music Talent" series Solo Recital (Hong Kong Cityhall) and Musica del cuore series in Hong Kong. Tsang has collaborated with various orchestras, including the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Ars Nova Orchestra, and the Eastman Symphony Orchestra, working with conductors Neil Varon, Alan Cumberland and Christoph Campastrini, among others. As a dedicated chamber musician, Tsang recently performed in the Wooster Chamber music festival (Ohio US), HK Citibank Plaza Series, Sanibel Music Festival (Florida US), and at venues such as Kneisel Hall, NYU, Symphony Space and the Miller Theatre at Columbia University. Tsang has also worked with many international artists including James Thompson, Giuliano Sommerhalder, Florent Heau, and Piotr Milewski. Tsang received her Doctorate in Piano Performance from the Eastman School of Music in 2011, where she studied with Barry Snyder, for whom she was teaching assistant from 2008 to 2011. In addition to her performance schedule, Tsang is also a piano artist teacher in the Hong Kong Baptist University, and coaches chamber music and collaborative piano to undergraduate and graduate students in HKAPA.

黎 艷 芳 YVONNE LAI

黎艷芳六歲起學習鋼琴,2000年考進香港演藝學院, 師承鋼琴家羅乃新及許寧,2006年以優秀成績完成鋼 琴伴奏專業文憑。其後前往美國三藩市音樂學院跟隨 Mack McCray 及 Sharon Mann 深造學習,並於2008 年取得音樂學士,同年於三藩市音樂學院協奏曲比賽 鋼琴組別中勝出。回港後積極參與鋼琴演奏和教育工 作,現為香港演藝學院伴奏導師。黎氏曾為大都會歌 劇院低音長號手 Denson Paul Pollard 音樂專輯中擔任 伴奏。 Yvonne Lai started piano lessons at the age of six. She began her professional music training in 2000 at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) where she studied with Nancy Loo and Ling Hui. In 2006, she completed her professional diploma in piano accompaniment with distinction. She then furthered her study in San Francisco Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Mack McCray and Sharon Mann, and received her Bachelor of Music in 2008. She was the winner of the Piano concerto competition of SFCM in the same year. She is now an active accompanist in Hong Kong, and serves as accompanist for the HKAPA. She is the official piano accompanist for the HK International Saxophone Symposium since 2009 and has been the official piano accompanist for Sliderasia from 2011-2015. She has collaborated with Denson Paul Pollard (Bass trombone), Philippe Cuper (Clarinet), Joe Burgstaller (Trumpet), Tine Thing Helseth (Trumpet), Jasmine Choi (Flute), Kenneth Tse (Saxophone), Lars Mlekusch (Saxophone). With Denson Paul Pollard (Bass trombonist , The Metropolitan Opera), they had made a CD recording – Point in time.

La Sax 成立於2005年,是現今在香港被視為最具潛力的色 士風樂團之一。多年來本著「雅俗共賞」的信念,以提高 公眾對古典音樂的認識及興趣為宗旨,竭力為觀眾提供高 質素的音樂會。時至今日,La Sax 已舉辦過百場音樂會, 足跡遍及香港及亞洲等地,吸引觀眾逾萬,廣獲好評。現 時 La Sax 的團員超過十位,當中包括專業樂手、來自本地 不同院校的音樂系畢業生及在校生,各人均對音樂抱有熱 誠和理想。 樂團過去的重要演出包括:於香港教育學院舉辦的首演音 樂會「Sax in the City」(2005年)、香港大會堂「有色 有聲」音樂會-獲香港電台專訪(2008年)、沙田大會堂 「Shall We Sax?」音樂會(2012年)等。此外,樂團亦 曾獲邀出席香港浸會大學五十周年金禧慶典開幕典禮並擔 任開幕表演嘉賓。2014年8月,La Sax 更於新加坡木管節 國際大賽贏得評審特別獎。2015年,La Sax與國際知名色 士風大師須川展也於香港大會堂舉辦十周年音樂會,更被 各大傳媒廣泛報導,當中包括香港電視廣播有限公司節目 《文化廣場》、香港電台、新城電台、星島日報、明報及 經濟日報等,大獲好評。

原創的演奏風格

La Sax 的演出曲目多元化,除了巴洛克、古典、爵士樂等 傳統曲目外,樂團亦會演奏由團員特別編制的各類音樂, 包括中國傳統音樂、世界各地民謠、本地流行音樂等,務 求為樂團注入獨特的音樂元素和原創的演奏風格。

以音樂打破障礙

音樂是一種通用的語言,可以無界限的交流和溝通。樂團一 直肩負回饋社會的責任,關懷來自弱勢社群的人士,讓每個 人都有機會欣賞音樂之美。2014年,La Sax 獲邀於心光盲 人學校舉辦的籌款音樂會中擔任演出嘉賓;2015年3月,樂 團於香港小童群益會主辦的「捕夢者大行動」為居住於慈雲 山邨的長者演奏懷舊金曲。自2016年起,樂團與「尚藝留 聲」合作,親身到訪復康中心、老人院、特殊學校,讓觀眾 如置身於音樂廳,感受非凡的音樂體驗。

分享音樂之美

過去十多年,La Sax 一直力求進步,致力拓展觀眾層,將音 樂帶到社區每一個角落,實踐與更多人分享好音樂的理想。 自2009年起,樂團成為康樂及文化事務署轄下表演團體, 定期於香港各區舉辦免費戶外音樂會,各大社區中心、公共 屋邨、商場、公園等均有樂團的足跡。2014及2015年3月, 樂團獲香港演藝學院表演藝術教育中心邀請,走訪深水埗、 元 朗 、 東 涌 區 內 的 公 共 空 間 舉 行 巡 迴 演 出 。 2017年 8月 , La Sax 獲「海港城」邀請與日本當代藝術家「大巻伸嗣」於 公共藝術計劃「Bubble Up」中演出。樂團除了希望與觀眾 一同分享演奏音樂的熱情與樂趣之外,也期望與他們一同感 受不斷創新、進步的喜悅。

啟發年輕新一代

作為推動本地色士風音樂的翹楚,樂團對於推行音樂教育工 作一直不遺餘力,務求為本地色士風發展不斷注入新的動力 之餘,亦期望年輕人透過接觸及學習音樂,培養個人藝術修 養。La Sax 除走訪各中、小學校及大專院校,與年輕觀眾接 觸外,亦發掘並培訓不少年青音樂家,為他們提供不同的學 習及演出機會。


La Sax, founded in 2005 by local saxophone talents, is regarded as one of the earliest saxophone ensembles in Hong Kong with versatility and astounding dynamic. With the goal of encouraging public interest in the art of classical music, La Sax dedicates to providing high quality concerts to the audience. Members of La Sax consist of professional musicians, music degree graduates and students from local institutions, all of whom share the same passion of pursuing artistic excellence. Remarkable events include “Sax in the City” that was held at the Hong Kong Institute of Education; “Saxo Carnival”, an event that was held in the Hong Kong City Hall and was broadcasted by RTHK; “Shall We Sax?”, an event that was held in the Sha Tin Town Hall, as well as free public concerts that were held in every part of Hong Kong. In August 2014, La Sax was awarded the Jury Special Prize at the Singapore Woodwind Festival. In 2015, La Sax successfully held its 10th Anniversary Celebration Concert at the Hong Kong City Hall, sharing the stage with world renowned saxophonist Mr Nobuya Sugawa. Media coverage of the concert includes TVB, RTHK, Sing Tao Daily, Ming Pao, Hong Kong Economic Times, marking a significant milestone for the ensemble. PERFORMING IN AUTHENTICITY The ensemble performs a diverse repertoire, ranging from classical, jazz, contemporary to pop music. Members of La Sax also arrange and perform the pieces of music with their pristine trait. They embolden the music culture to the masses and endorse the appreciation of saxophone music publicly by engaging audience from all walks of life.

BREAKING BOUNDARIES La Sax believes that music is for everyone. Therefore, to engage in charitable events is the ensemble’s will to care for the underprivileged in society. In 2014, the ensemble staged a performance to raise fund for the visually impaired at the invitation of The Ebenezer School and Home for the Visually Impaired. In 2015, La Sax was invited to perform for the elderly in Tsz Wan Shan Estate at an event “Dream High” organised by The Boys’ & Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong. Since 2016, La Sax collaborates with Chamber Music for Life Hong Kong to bring mini-concerts to rehabilitation centres, elderly homes. MORE THAN AUDIENCE BUILDING La Sax has continued to demonstrate its growing presence in various concerts and events. Since 2009, La Sax has become one of the regular performing groups invited by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department to deliver free concerts to the general public in various districts of Hong Kong.They strive to bring unique concert experience beyond concert halls, by engaging in community performances in a vibrant and lively way, bringing “edutainment” to audiences in schools, malls and residential areas etc. In 2014-15, the ensemble was invited by The Performing Arts Education (PAE) of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts to perform at various public spaces of Sham Shui Po, Yuen Long and Tung Chung. In August 2017, La Sax was invited by “Harbour City” to perform with Japanese artist Shinji Ohmaki at the “Bubble Up Public Art Project”. INSPRING THE MINDS OF YOUTH Dedicated to enriching local development of saxophone music, La Sax is keen to nurture the talent of the younger generation. By providing their students with different learning and performing opportunities via diverse symposiums, inter-flow concerts and ensembleship training, the youths are inspired to pursue unique music motive and artistic accomplishment.

節 目 P RO G R A MME 羅 西 尼 Gioacchino Rossini / 陳 中 豪 編 Jeffrey Chan arr. 《 威 廉 泰 爾 》序 曲 : 終 曲 WILLIAM TELL OVERTURE:FINALE 《威廉泰爾》序曲是一個共有四個段落的管弦樂作品,由意大利作曲家羅西尼於1829年根據 大文豪席勒的戲劇《威廉泰爾》所寫的。戲劇描述瑞士人民無法容忍奧國暴政,於是發起革命 推翻政府。音樂會將演出最後一個段落,由高音色士風及次中音色士風帶領展開序曲,描繪瑞 士人重奪領土的喜悅,勝利帶來的激昂。雖然故事中沒有出現馬或騎兵,但序曲的旋律則成為 了港 人 耳 熟 能 詳 的 《 賽 馬 曲 》 配 樂 。 This is an orchestral suite with four sections. Rossini was inspired by Friedrich Schiller's drama William Tell and composed this piece in 1829. The drama is about the Swiss revolution to fight against the dictatorship of the Austrian government. Its last section, the Finale, has a thrilling opening fanfare and then a galloping theme. It describes the scene of the Swiss soldiers' victorious battle to liberate their homeland from Austrian suppression. The section is in a vivace (very quick and lively) tempo to expresses the glory and exhilaration of the victory. Although there are neither horses nor cavalryman in the story, this movement is widely adopted in popular media to denote galloping horses, including the conventional theme song of horse racing in Hong Kong.

帕斯庫裡是一位意大利作曲家,在十八歲時,他已經是巴勒莫音樂學校的雙簧管教授和英國管 教授。他的作品對演奏者的技巧要求十分高,因而令他的作品總是很難被演奏。此曲寫於 1905年,原是寫給雙簧管和鋼琴,它不同於高沙可夫的《野蜂飛舞》,也就是要求演奏者以 循環呼吸的方式演奏,因此樂句不會被呼吸而中斷。全曲以琶音、音階和顫音令樂曲組成極長 的句子 , 緊 密 而 不 間 斷 。 Pasculli was an Italian composer who began his career as an oboist at the age of eighteen. His ground-breaking composition style requires players to have exquisite virtuosity that his compositions has always seen to be onerous to perform in modern days. This piece was written in 1905, originally composed for the oboe and the piano. Similar to Rimsky Korsakov’s Flight of the Bumble Bee, this piece is one of Pasculli well-known works that exploit extensive techniques. The structure of the piece resembles arpeggios, scales and trills in extreme long legato ties. Circular breathing is a vital element in this piece that requires players to produce a continuous tone without interrupted by breathing in.

The curious red chili walks with his small umbrella and taps on the sidewalk to enjoy the glamorous city view. In the middle of his way, he gets lost on a dark alley and starts to feel worried. After trudging through many devious routes, he finally finds his way back to the crowded main streets and continues his enchanting journey in the big city. *委 約 作 品 Commissioned work 13


邱玉鳳博士以優異成績畢業於香港演藝學院,其後獲美國俄亥俄州辛辛那提大學音樂學院給予 全費獎學金攻讀碩士及博士學位,主修作曲及電腦音樂。她的創作包括管弦樂、聲樂、室樂、 舞蹈及多媒體作品。電腦動畫音樂及其他音樂作品曾在肯得基州的卡內基會堂、辛辛那提大 學、紐約市大學和南韓仁川大學展覽及廣播。她的作品曾獲多個知名團體演奏,包括中國國家 交響樂團、北京交響樂團、浙江交響樂團、青島交響樂團、深圳交響樂團、香港中樂團、美國 新音樂節、加拿大溫哥華音樂節、英國靈閣嶺國際音樂節、中國北京第六屆中國國際合唱節及 天津少兒藝術節。她的編曲交響樂版《交響音畫孔雀》,大型鍵笙協奏曲,已由中國唱片深圳 公司出版發行CD和DVD。現職香港演藝學院音樂系教師、香港中文大學專業進修學院及香港國 際音樂學校文憑講師。 Dr. Jade Yau graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (Distinction). She was awarded two full-scholarships from the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music (USA) to finish her Master and Doctorate degrees, majoring in composition and cognate in computer music. Her compositions have been performed by distinguished groups such as China National Symphony Orchestra, Beijing symphony orchestra, Zhejiang Symphony Orchestra, Qingdao Symphony Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra; and in important the festivals such as New Music Festival, Festival Vancouver, Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, China International Choral Festival and Tianjin Children’s Arts Festival. Her animation music and other works were broadcast widely in the US including the States of New York, Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, and Incheon University of Korea. She has an arrangement work the Peacock, a symphonic picture for Sheng and Orchestra, has been released on CD and DVD by China record Shenzhen Corporation. Dr. Yau is currently a part-time faculty of Composition at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and a lecturer of Music Theory and Composition at School of Continuing and Professional Studies- the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong International Institute of Music.

《雞》是 由 爵 士 色 士 風 手 A lfr ed J a mes E llis 所 寫的爵士放克經典,在占士布朗1969年於唱片《爆 米花》中發行。其後,著名低音結他手傑可帕斯透瑞斯多次翻演,令此曲成名。他為此曲加上一個騷 靈前 奏 , 並 灌 錄 於 他 的 唱 片 《 邀 請 》 和 《 生 日 音 樂會》內。樂曲中藍調式的和弦進行以及不斷重覆的 的低音聲 部 , 使 它 成 為 即 興 演 奏 會 上 常 會 演 奏 的 樂 曲。 This is a jazz funk standard written by jazz saxophonist Alfred James Ellis. It was first released on James Brown's single The Popcorn in 1969. The tune was prominently covered and made famous by jazz bassist Jaco Pastorius. Pastorius added a “Soul Intro” to the tune and interpolated it in his live albums Invitation and The Birthday Concert. With a blues-like progression and an easily recognisable bass line, The Chicken became a funk music staple at jam sessions. Now let’s enjoy the sensational solos improvised by our saxophonists!

這是一首寫給色士風四重奏的變奏曲,此曲包括了一個主題及十個變奏,這些變奏是根據法國作曲家 阿爾班的《威尼斯狂歡節》之主題而寫的,而主題則來自於一首家傳戶曉的法國民間樂曲《我的帽子 有三隻角》。阿爾班所寫的變奏曲原是寫給短號的,其後很多作曲家將此曲改編給不同樂器。音樂會 將演奏其 中 六 個 具 特 色 的 變 奏 。 This is a piece written for saxophone quartet which comprises a main theme and ten variations. The variations are based on a theme excerpted from the piece Le Carnaval De Venise (The Carnival of Venice) by a French composer Jean-Baptiste Arban. The theme of Le Carnaval De Venise was originally a popular folk song My Hat, It Has Three Corners. Based on the folk tune, Arban first composed the variations for cornet solo. After then, many composers arranged the piece for different instruments. In this concert, six of the variations will be performed. 14

THE CARNIVAL OF THE ANIMALS

這是聖桑最受歡迎的管弦樂组曲,以各種樂器來模擬動物的聲音與神情,親切而可愛。不過在首演之 後,聖桑卻下令除了《天鵝》之外,其他樂段禁止演奏,也不承認曾經出版。直到聖桑過世,各界才 又將其翻攪而出,受歡迎程度至今不減。全曲有十四段音樂,描寫包括鋼琴家在內的十三種動物,其 中也多處 引 用 了 其 他 作 曲 家 作 品 中 的 著 名 旋 律 。 你 又喜歡這個改編給色士風重奏樂團的版本嗎? Saint-Saëns referred to this colourful witty piece as a “Grand Zoological Fantasy” and he wrote it in 1886, but refused to let anyone perform it during his lifetime. It was finally published in 1922, the year after he died. The next-to-last part, The Swan has become a very famous piece by itself and was the only part Saint-Saëns let musicians perform. Each of the 14 movements is a picture of a different kind of animal (although Saint-Saëns include pianists and music critics in his zoo). 此作品來自1963年的電影《傻豹》的主題曲,由美國電影和流行音樂作曲家曼西尼所寫。電影原是關 於一個倒霉的法國警察,後來傻豹這角色大售歡迎,更有牠自己的電視卡通片,至今仍為最著名的卡 通音樂作品之一。這個版本是托馬羅受到巴比麥菲林的無伴奏合唱版本啟發後所編的,通過加入 「s huffle fu nk」的 律 動 、 具 標 誌 性 的 即 興 演 奏 和 中間倍速的部分,為曼西尼的原曲注入新的活力。 Written by Henry Mancini, this piece was originated from the film The Pink Panther who talks about a hapless French policeman. The film soon became eminent and had its own cartoon television series The Pink Panther Show. Its theme music remains as one of the most famous cartoon compositions of all time. This arrangement is made by Mike Tomaro, who was inspired by Bobby McFerrin’s a cappella recording of Pink Panther. Combining a “shuffle funk” groove, the signature riffs from the original and a double-time middle section, this arrangement infuses new vitality into the Mancini’s favourite.
