GROWN BY US

Did you know that Cherry Lane has five of its own in-house nurseries?

We’re very proud to grow in the region of 500,000 of our own bedding plants every year which are sold in our garden centres up and down the country. From hanging baskets to patio pots, our Grown By Us range ensures your garden has the most vibrant, healthy plants all year round. We don’t grow plants for anyone else!

Growing links with Jimmy’s Farm

At Cherry Lane, we’re very excited to have teamed up with Jimmy’s Farm, the amazing farm and wildlife park just outside Ipswich in Suffolk, set up and run by TV personality and environmentalist, Jimmy Doherty.

Back in January this year a Cherry Lane van, loaded with 19 trees, including acers and a Christmas tree, all accompanied by Nisha Collins, Cherry Lane’s Brand and Marketing Manager, set off to the farm to be met by Jimmy.

The trees were then offloaded and straightaway Jimmy and Nisha set about the task of planting the trees in the park’s polar bear reserve where, they will enhance the reserve for inhabitant Ewa and provide her

with sensory stimulation. Ewa was rescued from a zoo closing down in Sweden and lives in an area called The Lost Lands of the Tundra that has open pastures, beautiful woodland, deep ponds and lakes. It is the largest polar bear reserve in Europe, which opened on-site last year.

This donation heralds the start of a pledge to work together on a range of green initiatives which align our Value Our Planet mission and the

Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park’s charity, Space for the Wild.

Jimmy Doherty said: “We have always held a vision of promoting a wider understanding of the natural world and inspiring future generations to support and protect our planet, and never has there been more need to do so. We are delighted to accept this donation from Cherry Lane and look forward to working with them to create fun, easy to do activities that everyone can get involved with on the farm and at home to do their bit to help make a difference.”

Cherry Lane’s Nisha Collins replied: “This was one of the best days ever! We’re so excited to

donate these trees to Jimmy’s Farm. Our Value Our Planet mission aims to encourage customers to make more eco-friendly choices, as well as looking at ways that we can do more as a business. We are hoping to highlight the valuable work of Space for the Wild and get our stores and customers engaged and working together to help protect our planet.”

And the partnership doesn’t end there: Jimmy’s Farm is hopefully going to be supplying sausages to our café here at Cherry Lane too!
