He has not looked back ever since. In 1979, he was made Accountant and the following year, Chief Accountant, a post he has held until his decision to become boss of himself. To many, it is inconceivable how such a man with only a basic knowledge of accountancy can rise to such a responsible position. His string of qualifications speak for itself. Encik Zainuddin with initiative, determination and perseverance strove to better himself by pursuing correspondence courses and the above-mentioned degrees have been the outcome of his efforts. Come July, no more slogging through mud when it rains or walking through dust during the dry spell for users of the Foundation temporary car park! This is the good news for occupants of the Foundation and visitors, when the 164 sealed car parking lots situated between the Foundation building and the Child Development Centre will be operational. The basement car park which has only 350 parking lots is insufficient for occupants of the building. The temporary car park has caused users untold miseries and inconveniences especially dUring unfavourable weather conditions. During a heavy downpour, puddles are scattered here and there causing users to tread warily and sometimes slide and slither to reach their vehicles. "It is not uncommon to see people getting their feet bogged in the mud and clothing soiled", remarked a user. "On drier days, sudden gusts of wind produces instant 'Mat Sallehs' ", said another. The new car park costing over $600,000 will also incorporate nine parking bays for buses and lorries. Shade trees will also be planted along the parking lots to provide some protection for vehicles.

Except for the Annual Staff) Christmas ga the ring ,cele brations for all forthcoming festivals have been cancelled.

Other activities planned, such as Family Day, Joggerthon and the premier show will be shelved until further notice.

This was decided at the recent SAFOND SRC Exco meeting in view of other commitments and financial constraints of the club.

However, bookings for badminton, tennis and squash at the Likas Sports Complex will continue.

The committee felt that these celebrations involved heavy expenditure. Furthermore, it was noted that staff participation on most occasions was far from satisfactory.
