By Jordan Achs Governor Mark Gordon visited WYDOT Headquarters in mid-July to take a quick tour of operations, meet some of the force and to learn about the department’s recent challenges and accomplishments. The brisk tour included visits to Accounts Payable, Budget and grants, WyoLink, the Materials Lab, the Rigging Shop, Mechanics, and wrapped up with the I-80 and I-25 maintenance crews. Along the way he tried to meet as many employees as possible. “Unfortunately he was on a very tight schedule and couldn’t meet everyone or stop by every department,” said WYDOT Director Luke Reiner. “He did repeatedly express his gratitude for the hard work WYDOT employees do every day in every sector.” Part of the tour also included demonstrations by the Materials Lab and a chance to sit in a plow and talk plow strikes with the Rigging Shop crews. He also discussed challenges, goals, accomplishments and more with executive staff. We appreciate the Governor’s time and the chance to highlight the important work the people of WYDOT accomplish each day. n
